  • Punches above its weight
Color: Stainless Steel, ECAM35025SB
I was lucky enough to have a very high end built in espresso machine at a place I once lived in. This machine was in the $5K range. Does this one measure up? Almost! Of course you need to keep the Dinamica in context. $5K espresso machines (at least good ones) are expensive for a reason. So if you are a real coffee connoisseur who can differentiate between bean types, want to tamp and fine tune and want a coffee shop level frother, the Dinamica may fall short. But if you appreciate a very good coffee drink and want to be able to have some control over your coffee, the Dinamica will be one of the best machines you can own. I did a great deal of research on the type of espresso machine I wanted to buy which was in the $1K range. Eventually, it came down to the Philips PicoBarista and the Dinamica. I opted for the De’Longhi because the Philips was almost too automated and I wanted the iced coffee function. Some reviews note the iced coffee does not produce legit cold brew. I don’t think the manufacturer was aiming for true cold brew but rather the ability to produce a better iced coffee drink. As noted, the espresso still waters down the ice so I actually put sweetener in the cup, brew it without ice, stir and then pour the espresso over a glass full of ice and milk for a yummy iced latte. You still get the benefits of this function without watering it down as much. Other reviewers were overwhelmed by the set up and figuring it out. Set up was simple. Compared to programming VCRs in the 80’s or putting IKEA furniture together, this was a breeze. Learning its ins and outs was also not too hard. While I did have some experience with the aforementioned expensive machine, I don’t think the Dinamica was complicated if you focus on learning one function at a time. So figure out how to make an espresso. And then the next day figure something else out. Frothing is lots of fun. The quality of the froth can carry the weight of caramel sauce on top so not bad for the little guy! Once you figure out the functions you will wonder why you thought you’d be overwhelmed. In short, this little machine punches way above its weight. Not only does the Dinamica make close to coffee house level drinks, it allows the creative inner barista to come out. Before you know it, you will be making all sorts of drinks and ordering a variety of syrups to spice things up. Thank goodness I leaned toward using this machine during the recent shelter in place drama instead of baking cookies — probably saved me a few pounds! ... show more

  • Great coffee and cool design
Color: Stainless Steel, ECAM35025SB
Our coffee tale: Keurig's flavor was a flat tire; French press, a drama queen with mess issues. Then, De'Longhi burst onto the scene, coffee cape and all! Flavor upgrade – now my taste buds throw parties. No mess drama, just smooth, fresh cups effortlessly.

  • Better than Jura
Color: Stainless Steel, ECAM35025SB
After our 3rd Jura automatic espresso machine broke in less than 10 years and the customer service was terrible, we decided to try De'Longhi. So far, we are really impressed with the ease of use, quality of espresso and the ability to clean/maintain it without "sending it back to the factory" like Jura. My wife always got iced lattes from Starbucks and the home espresso machines were intended to do the same thing at home. This machine works great and needs very little "fine tuning" to duplicate commercial quality espresso. I drink americano's and this machine has produced better drinks for the both of us compared to the more expensive Jura machines. I would recommend this to family and friends. Update: Over a year later, this machine still works amazing. Really happy with this purchase 👍 ... show more

  • Very bad experience
Color: Stainless Steel, ECAM35025SB
Too much noise, quit working after 5 weeks. Worst is Amazon promised 2 times to refund but disappeared. Factory promised to send paperwork to return the unit to repaire but they are MIA too. Not recommended to buy this unit. Or from this manufacturer

  • Can't beat the flavor
Color: Stainless Steel, ECAM35025SB
I transitioned from a Keurig to this because my coffee snob friends said the differences in flavor is remarkable. I love controlling the strength, and using the frother to warm milk for cappuccinos. My husband wasn't a big coffee drinker, but now has a double shot of expresso before he works out each morning and does not experience the jitters as with the pre-ground Keurig products. Don't be intimidate with all the buttons. This is super simple to use. The first few times warning lights flashed, just go to the illustrations in the manual that shows what to do when certain lights, or combination of lights flash. It'll tell you exactly what you need to do, like add water, or empty grounds, or add coffee beans. Love this! Now just trying to find some great syrups to use with it.... :-( ... show more

  • Doesn't brew enough coffee to fill a mug. Buy if you like really mediocre espresso and microfoam
Color: Stainless Steel, ECAM35025SB
I was excited about this machine as my all-in-one latte and coffee solution. The coffee option brews around 3-4 oz of coffee (barely a 3rd of a mug), no matter how many different settings or fine tuning I've tried since buying it. The espresso it brews is fine. The milk frothing wand is not as good as the Breville wand, and performs really poorly with alternative milk brands that the Breville froths well. It's also difficult to get a good angle with this short, straight wand so you can't create optimal microfoam. I've been tinkering with this machine to try my best to get it to brew well balanced espresso that isn't bitter, and to get it to brew enough coffee to fill even just one mug most of the way. De'longhi support has been unwilling to return the item because it was used, and passed the 30 day period. There is "no way to override the return policy". So, I recommend being sure this machine is what you want before you buy it. ... show more

  • Worth every penny
Color: Stainless Steel, ECAM35025SB
It's expensive, and it requires a bit of a commitment to learn how to use it. But wow, it is worth every bit of the investment, and after a brief orientation period it is very easy to use. if you like coffee, this machine will make you LOVE it. If you love coffee, then stop here and hit "add to cart." You will not believe that you can make coffee this good yourself. So, bottom line: it looks fabulous on your counter, it delivers superlatively good coffee quickly, has flawlessly handled a variety of beans effortlessly. Not everyone can afford $1,000 on a coffee maker, but if you can, it is totally worth it, and if you do the math you may be surprised how quickly it pays for itself. ... show more
