The hot plate gets nice and hot but within a few minutes, it shuts off, basically ruining the food. I understand there is a thermostat control, but it looks like it doesn't turn back on again to maintain temperature. The same way it takes a short time to heat up, it also takes a short time to cool down. Frying meatballs on this takes about two hours and it still turns out soggy with oil. ... show more
