Two 900W burners and 3 foot 3 prong grounded 120 volt cord. The yellow lights on the front, cycle on and off at temperature and the red light under the burner glows when it is turned on. I am so bad, I used the Hob to melt bees wax to spread on the new bee frames. The Hob kept temperature to melt bees wax but not burn it. It cleaned up nicely. I am still going to be in touble when she smells burnt wax while making burgers in the fry pan. My friend asked "why can't it have a bigger burner? " Most houses are wired for 15 amps at 120v. That is why 2 900W burners. This is going in the RV so I don't have to get LP gas as often. The only way to make it better is to add a padded bag with handles to store it in the RV like my little outside grill. ... show more

    • Great way to expand your kitchen capacity
Picked up this dual burner set up to create additional capacity in the kitchen for holidays — sometimes, four burners just ain’t enough — and to have a backup cooking option in case of power outages. I know that an electric burner doesn’t immediately seem like a great idea in a power outage, but I keep a portable generator charged up and it has enough juice to run some appliances for a couple of days. I like that this product has a ceramic glass top, which meshes well with our new induction stove and compatible cook ware. Seems like it will easy clean (easier than the old single burner with a metal top I had been using. Heats up fast, easy to use and comes with safety enhancements that will prevent overheating, a good thing to have for those busy holiday meals and all the stresses that come with them. It’s pretty light, too. Since it only ways like five pounds, it’s portable. Would probably be ok for car camping but more importantly, a great way to keep your own food hot (or prepare things) when you’re in a potluck type situation. I really like this little burner! I don't really have anything to compare it to, but it works well. As well as an electric burner is going to work! I guess it could be used for large gatherings, or maybe camping if I ever get myself portable power. Anywho, it works. Straight forward and easy to use. I had initially gotten it to give me more options as far as where I can make candles, soaps, etc. within my home.. though I think I will most likely just end up in the kitchen!! There's not a ton to say here about this thing: It's color coordinated to let you know when the heat elements are on or off and has reasonably good temperature control. I really like the durability of it - not that I'd recommend it, but it can take a drop or 2, which makes it perfect for camping (our intended use). Cleanup of it, since it's essentially a glass top, is an absolute breeze. The price can't be beat. Highly recommend. ... show more

    • Great that it is a two burner plate.
I have been using a single plate model for quite some time, and it is rated at 1500 watts of electrical power. This one is 1800 watts but that is only 900 watts per each burner. I noticed that right away. My 1500-watt plate model has a digital control, and it jumps across the heat settings going from 100/200/400/600 etc. I find myself toggling between the different settings but frustrated because on that unit you had to take a 200 watt jump in order to get to the next heat level. You know, avoid burning the food without wasting time cooking it. Well, the thing I find the most attractive about this one is that you have a continuously variable heat setting; you can fine tweak it. I must admit that the 900 watts only gets water to a mild barely boiling level, and that takes some time. If you are in a hurry to cook it can be more of a challenge than the higher wattage per plate models. It is really attractive, and easy to clean, but you do have to be careful not to wipe across the top lodging any particles along the edge of the hot plate where it meets the body. Having two burners is the overwhelmingly huge advantage of this unit, each with its own heat setting. ... show more
