  • Works great! Easy to use & clean
Color: Aqua Size: 2 Bowls
I love this ice cream maker. It not only works great it's the perfect size and easy to use and clean. I was hesitant to try it because of the negative reviews but I'm glad I didn't listen to those people and just gave it a try. I put very little effort into using it and it turned out great every time. Not sure why some people had problems with it or if it was just user error or inability to follow directions. But i found it super easy to use and very versatile. I put the mug/bowl in the freezer for 2 days first to make sure it was sufficiently cold. The first thing i made was simple vanilla ice cream using the recipe in the book (although i didn't even measure exact amounts, i just guessed and eyed it). Poured the milk/cream/sugar combo in and let it go for about 25 minutes. Poured in some chocolate syrup in at the end and had myself some yummy perfect chocolate ice cream. It was on the softer side which is how i prefer ice cream so it was perfect for me. Also i noticed if you eat out of the frozen bowl it stays cold longer and if you push the ice cream around to the sides as you're eating it, it continues to freeze and harden. Transferring it to a different container will only make it melt faster. The second thing i made was a fruit sorbet sort of thing. I did this last minute with no plan and it turned out great. It was super hot and i was making a fruit smoothie, then decided to pour my smoothie into the ice cream maker to see what would happen. It was literally just bereies, juice and a little milk. After 25 minutes this turned into a fruity iced treat that was super delicious and perfect on a 90 degree day. The next thing i tried was putting in yogurt mixed with milk and juice and this turned out as a creamy mix between ice cream and iced slushy. I'm amazed at all the different creations you can make with this thing and how simple it is to use. Also clean up is quick and easy which i like. Having 2 bowls seems like the best idea, especially for a single person, as you always have one in the freezer ready to use. This makes the perfect amount for one person but it can make enough for 2 even in one bowl. This is a great product especially for the price. Glad i didn't get one of those expensive ice cream makers that probably doesn't even work as well. If you have been wanting to make your own ice cream or iced/cold treats/concoctions, then give this a try. Don't listen to the negative reviews because this thing is awesome and works great! So glad I finally got one. ... show more

  • Well worth the inexpensive price. Well worth the inexpensive price.
Color: Aqua Size: 2 Bowls
Easy to make delicious ice cream. Pros-ice cream is churned and ready to eat in 20 minutes. Easy to clean. Just a quick hand wash of bowl, lid and paddle. Fantastic taste. Much better than store bought with nothing but what you put in it. Cons-it can churn 3/4 cup at a time. So if your like me you want more there isn't any. I knew this and choose the small version on purpose so I couldn't eat more. A little noisy but not bad. The video makes it seem louder than it is. You do have to plan ahead. Make your ice cream base and chill it. Also the mug has to freeze atleast 24 hrs. I didn't find this to be a issue. I store the mugs in the freezer. If I plan to have ice cream for dessert, I make my base in the morning and refrigerate it. Than I churn the ice cream while I'm making dinner. 20 minutes later it's done. I freeze it while we eat and it's ready for after dinner. So it's not as easy as just going to your freezer and taking out a pint of ice cream and eating it. You do have to plan ahead. It's worth the extra effort to have fresh ice cream you made yourself. It's a great beginner ice cream maker. Oh and don't use a metal spoon, always use a rubber spatula or you will scratch your mug like i did. ... show more

  • Fun simple ice cream makes. Great activity to do with kids!
Color: Aqua Size: 2 Bowls
I bought this as a gift for my in-laws and they have happily used it many times to make ice cream for themselves and as an activity to make ice cream with their grandkids. They've expressed that it has been easy to use/easy to clean, and freezes well. They have used it repeatedly so I know they enjoy using it, it isn't too complicated, and it works well. I've also tried the ice cream they've made and it was delicious an rich vanilla. I love that this set allows for the option to make two different flavors with the two cups. I don't think they have tried making multiple flavors yet, I know if my husband and I had these that we would both be experimenting with different flavors from the ingredients we have at home! ... show more

  • Easy homemade ice cream for one or 2
Color: Aqua Size: 2 Bowls
Works really well. This is great for when you want 1 or 2 servings of a little frozen yogurt or other frozen treat. The recipe booklet gives a good idea of the ratios you need, so you can make your own recipe or use one of theirs. I found it freezes pretty quickly, usually before the 20 minutes it says to plan on. Happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Small Investment with Great Results Small Investment with Great Results
Color: Aqua Size: 2 Bowls
I'm just getting into making ice cream at home and after doing weeks of exhaustive research, including probably 100 hours of YouTube videos (I know, I have a problem, but the research is for me a big part of the fun), I was ready to set my budget at between $200 and $400 for a compressor ice cream machine. Then I ran across this Dash My Cup Set. I returned to YouTube and after just a few videos I decided that for a small fraction of my initial budget I could "get my feet wet" with the My Cup. Another deciding factor was that the Freezer Mugs were small enough to not sacrifice too much of my freezer space. I've made several batches of ice cream using both the included recipes and some I have found online and I must say, the results have been fabulous. Sure the finished ice cream right out of the machine is a soft serve consistency but after a couple of hours in the freezer you will have ice cream firm enough to form excellent scoops. Just be sure to follow good recipes otherwise you may end up with ice cream hard as a rock. So learning a bit about the science of ice cream is critical for good results. Although the portion size is small, it's actually bigger than I expected. I'm an ice cream lover and sure, polishing off the entire batch in one sitting is no problem but, I am definitely satisfied with the amount. And if you opt for the Set with the extra mug, you'll always have a mug ready for your next batch. Definitely the way to go in my opinion. The My Mug is very well made (as are most of the Dash products of which I have an Egg Cooker and a Waffle Iron) and the motor will turn the dasher through the thickest of recipes. If you overload with mix-ins it might run into difficulties but otherwise you're good to go. Will the My Mug be the "end game" ice cream machine? Probably not. But for a small investment I can experiment with different recipes and see where this new found hobby takes me. And even if I do get a larger, fancier and more expensive machine in the future, I will probably keep the My Mug anyway to test out new flavors. This way I can see what I like without wasting too many ingredients. ... show more

  • ONE At A Time now
Color: Aqua Size: 2 Bowls
Thankful I bought two sets for this family of 4. Quite inconvenient to be able to make 2 people their ice cream while 2 others wait (or change their mind while waiting) Makes no sense why this set comes with ONE CHURN. Recipe booklet was minimal I got more from YouTube. Lids should come with the kit not separate. It was exciting to make yet disappointing we had to take turns and couldn't work together all at once. Ice cream was good, soft serve preferred. ... show more

  • Not bad for an inexpensive ice cream maker
Color: Aqua Size: 2 Bowls
For something this cheap, it’s definitely not that bad. The directions are easy to follow but I went and put the ice cream in the freezer for at least 30 mins more to cool the ice cream to the perfect consistency and it turned out great! After I made vanilla ice cream from the recipe in the book, I started concocting my own recipes and everything has turned out yummy! ... show more
