Disclaimer: What works for me may not work for you. I'm not responsible for you doing any DIY modifications to this or any product. I'm just sharing my personal experience. That's it. Period. The end. Fridge itself is esthetically very pleasing, but the thermostat was aweful, and the temperature throughout is mediocre. The fridge temp from the top to the bottom varies it seems 10 or degrees from the two thermometers I have in the fridge, which are identical and read the same when I swap them from top to bottom. The fridge itself is quite noisy for a modern fridge. I have it near my living room and can hear it whenever it's running, and especially on start up. Here's the biggest problem with the fridge, the thermostat. At it's coldest, the factory thermostat would be 40+ degrees on the bottom and around 50+ degrees on top. Sorry, but that ain't a fridge. This happened with TWO of these same fridges. I returned the first one and then when the same problem occurred with the second, I took the solution into my own hands. I replaced the factory thermostat with a Cizz WPF-20 off of Amazon (bolted right in for me), and it has made the fridge WAY better. I installed it running the entire probe behind the coolant panel, and barely have it turned on (think of it as on level 1 of 5...barely turned on). The bottom now sits around 28 degrees and the top is around 36-38 degrees. I use the fridge primarily for beer but also put bottled water in the door storage, which is awesome to have in a mini fridge. So, perhaps the variance in temp is a blessing in disguise. The beer, especially on the bottom, is literally ice cold (28 degrees). Yet, water doesn't freeze in the door (requiring 32+ degrees) In the end, this fridge does what I bought it for, but it wasn't without some extra work on my part. Had the thermostat worked out of the box like the current one (i.e. I turn it down as cold as it will go and it ends up with the temps I have now) and the compressor was quiet, I would give it a 5/5. These two items I believe deduct two stars. I added one star just due to the nice design on the interior/exterior (including the LED light) along with the overall size. ... show more

I love this fridge; I live in the midwest and have it in out outdoor bbq (pictured). I've had it for over a year now and it keeps beverages extremely cold; so cold that I've had to turn it down (I had it maxed) as beer cans near the sidewalls were starting to expand when packed tight. I even made the mistake of storing glass bottled water (Aqua Panna) too close to the sidewall, only to have it freeze/bust. Being in the midwest I obviously move my fridge inside during the winter as a home office fridge. The indoor blue lighting w/ black interior walls is attractive. Even if this fridge somehow died in the next year or two; I'd still reorder another one. ... show more

Bought this fridge to keep only drinks cold. It has a very nice retro style. The interior is nicely designed and holds a lot of bottles and cans. The light is necessary to illuminate the black interior. The biggest problems I've had are the most important reasons you buy a refrigerator, the temperature and Danby's warranty/customer service. I've had this a year now and the temp. never gets below 46 degrees. Food and Drug Admin. recommends fridge temps stay below 40 degrees. The drinks never really get cold. I recommend NOT using this fridge particularly if you plan to keep food in it. I've contacted Danby four times to have it replaced or repaired to address the temp. problem under warranty. The first time it took weeks to contact me, and they recommended I perform a "hard restart" (unplug and restart) which did absolutely nothing. Next, (about 3 weeks later) they asked for proof of purchase and installation photos for the warranty claim. I sent the items but never heard back from Danby. I contacted them two more times and still have had no response. Obviously, Danby is not concerned with customer satisfaction or product performance. I'm planning to replace the unit very soon with a Magic Chef, and I will NEVER BUY another Danby product. ... show more

Great! You have to make sure the shelves are pushed in to the back of the fridge or it will not keep cold. Also it absolutely has to be 5 inches from any wall - or whatever may be behind it - to keep it running properly. Overall an awesome lil unit!

I bought this for a friend and he loves it. Says it is so much better in every way than the older one he had that just stopped working. It holds a lot of food but that's because I got it without the ice maker since he already has a freezer. This also looks very nice. Good buy.
