nice tone and feel, but very short life
I have gone through several sets of these in the last couple of years. I like the feel and the sound overall (although last time I put on a new set they were uncomfortably bright before they got broken in). However, the last two sets of these I've used have died after about 4 months of use. At first I thought maybe I had a defective set but now that it has happened more than once, I know that that's what I can expect if I get these again. What has been happening is that the strings start to unravel at the bridge (the G especially) and the tone quickly suffers. I have also asked other bass players who have used these strings about their experience with them, and have been told the same basic story of them wearing out after a few months. I will not be buying these again.

Poor quality
Ordered product for my 3/4 size kay upright Bass. E string was too short had to buy another string when getting bass set up at $40.00 Could have bought new set locally cheaper than total cost of this set of strings. Recommend not buying these strings here!!! you may pay more locally but at least they will be a matched set.

quality, versatile strings
these are good synthetic strings. i play a mix of arco and pizz, and am a full time bassist and music teacher. bow responce is gennerally very good. i've read the E strings were weak, which i have not experienced. on my instrument, the zyex A string doesn't respond particularly well to bowing. the rest of the set bows very easily and has a nice warm, big sound. for pizz / jazz playing, these strings are my favorite i've used so far. excellent sound and feel. i'm playing on an 1880s tyrolean flat back bass. i've used them in jazz contexts, symphonic, and classical solo repertoire. my only complaint is that the A string doesn't seem to bow as well as the others. aside from that, sound and feel are both very nice. i've had them on my bass for about 3 months now. satisfied. not the last set i'll ever use, but i'm not in a hurry to try anything else.

Full-range sound, great pizz growl and bow easily
I was a longtime Spirocore Weich player and decided to try these based on a friend's recommendation. They have a full-range sound, similar fullness to Obligatos but more modern high end detail, great growl for pizz, and bow much easier than the spirocores. They are also quite affordable.

Great feel, lose some attack when settled in.
To be fair, I haven't really found any bass strings that I love and are at a decent price point. I had Eudoxas and fell in love with them years ago but at $400+ a set, it's just stupid to buy them (especially when gigs pay $50.) I really loved these zyex strings when I first put them on. I liked the gut-like feel and prescence. A few months later, I'm finding that they've lost their luster. They're more quiet and have more fundamental and less prescence. They perform and age similarly to obligatos.

My favorite strings!
They slap and they bow. Find another string that does that for this price. And they feel good on the fingers night after night.

The #1 String for the price !!!
These are the best Pizzicato and bowing strings for the best price. The only strings that never leave your fingers blister and sound very good in every range. They sound consistent with a pickup and microphone. Great for Orchestra and Jazz !!!
