Description

The process is divided into four steps: 1) cleaning your touch screen by using the green "1" (wet) and red "2" (dry) wipes. Touch ONLY the edges of the screen with your fingers since the oil from your fingers may cause problems. 2) remove dust from your touch screen with the blue "dust absorber" stickers. These are really sticky, and you should hold them only by the end or tab--not the middle. Use the straight stickers for the edges of your screen, and the round sticker for the main part of the screen. 3) (please see included diagram) separate the protective screen--the THICK screen, which will soon be applied to your touch screen--from the THIN protective layer. Hold on to the black tab and pull gently from one corner diagonally across to the opposite corner OR straight across if you're really good with your hands. Now you have the solid screen protector ready to apply. Again, handle the screen ONLY by its edges, and place it carefully on your clean touch screen. As you apply GENTLE pressure to the surface of your touch screen protector, you will see the screen turn from gray to black, showing that contact has been made. 4) Wipe gently , using a SOFT cloth (not paper towels, since they can scratch) from the center outward until your new screen protector is attached completely to your touch screen. You now have protected your touch LCD screen from potential harm. Congratulations! Note: Accessory ONLY, camera is not included. I just purchased a Nikon D850 which includes a touch screen. On my previous Nikon DSLRs I used products like Nikon's BM-12 screen protector which offered superior screen protection but since it was not in contact with the screen would allow dust and tiny debris to get under the screen protector. Periodically you'd have to take it off to clean underneath. Now with the touch screen capability those methods of screen protection are impractical. Findings: I found the WH1916 D850 Screen Protector to be effective in adding a layer of protection to the view screen on my D850. It is similar to products I've put on my cell phone screens however I found it a little more confusing as the instructions are not as clear and straight forward. Since I've put screen protectors on my phones I drew on that knowledge to apply the protector. Unlike other screen protectors this one did not come with any cloth to clean the camera view screen of dust or smudges prior to protector application. It only came with some stickers to help guide the protector into place and to blot any dust or lint particles off of the screen prior to application. That said the price point was good. Finally, I had all of the touch control functionality that I had without the screen protector. Pros: - Very affordable - Touch screen remains sensitive to touch for control - Decent screen protection (so far) Cons: - Poor instructions - Lack of screen cleaning cloth Conclusion: I recommend this product as it is an affordable way to protect your expensive camera investment. ... show more

I got these for my D500. The fit is perfect. You can't tell it's there. In fact, I forgot. I took my camera out of the bag today only to find a crack on the screen. It looked pretty bad. I was about to cry. Then I remembered I had the screen protector on it. I slowly peeled it off and.......my screen is fine! No damage at all. I'm still not 100% exactly how my screen took a hit without me knowing about it. But that's OK. I'm going to install my second protector now and order two more. I had a previous plastic protector screen which worked well but became heavily scratched with constant use. The glass screen protector offered better protection with a "scratch free" surface. The cost was extremely reasonable and the installation only took a few minutes without any bubbles. the included instructions are very succinct but clear and easy to follow. Furthermore the package includes an additional screen for later replacement, the necessary swabs, all of which came in a wooden box.     • Fine screen protector, cheap cleaning accessories
Screen protector works fine. Went on fine. No bubbles at all. Hasn't shifted since putting it on, so it seems stable. I did receive a small cleaning kit with mine that included a wet cloth, a dry cloth, and sticker dust removers. I will say that the wet cloth wasn't the best. Whatever was on it left streaks and the dry cloth didn't clear it up much, either. So if you're purchasing, I'd recommend getting better cleaning products and not relying on the ones that come with it. The dust remover was just a sticker, like phone screen protector dust removers, no problems there. Fit my Nikon D850 fine. ... show more

The instructions have some translation to English quirks but you can figure out what they want you to do. First of all, DON'T USE THEIR CLEANING WIPES! As you can see they are tiny and cheap and left my screen a mess. It was like using tap water on a paper towel. I used a lint free lens cloth to clean it first and then after using their "wet" wipe it left hard to remove streaks all over my screen. I used my lint free lens cloth again to clean the screen and it took some care and time to clean it again. Then they have this STICKY dust remover. DON'T USE IT! It ALSO leaves gunk on your screen. The "Guide Stickers" were nice but throw out the tiny cheap "wet" and "dry" wipes along with the "dust" fly traps. Use the "Guide Stickers for perfect placement and use your lint free lens cloth to rub out any bubbles. I had one small one in the corner that was easy to push out. My touch screen works fine. This is a nice product just take my advice on how to use this kit. The last three pictures are with the protector on. ... show more

    • Can't tell it's even on the screen
I was pleasantly surprised by this screen protector. It came with two protectors, cleaning wipes, and instructions in a nice wooden box. The installation was easy and once on, you really can't tell that there is an extra piece of glass covering the screen. The size is almost perfect. There may be about a 1mm gap (if even that much) between the size of my D500 screen and the edges of the screen protector, but that only equates to about 0.5mm on each side and once it's on, it just blends in. The protector itself is crystal clear. I would definitely buy this again, but won't need to because I still have the second one sitting in the nice wooden box as a backup. ... show more

The jury seems to be out regarding the necessity of this accessory. But I thought it prudent to protect the touch screen on my 850 if possible. Cons: the little wipe-the-glass-clean pads were dry and did not work. After removing the protective covering from the touch screen (yes, camera is that new) I exhaled on the glass, wiped with a microfiber cloth, and used a couple of puffs with a Giotto blower just to be sure. This kit comes with two pieces of glass and two sets of foil packs and self stick tools for positioning the glass. Using the little self-stick strips made it easy to position the glass sheet. If you make a mistake in the alignment of the glass, you can carefully lift it up with your fingernails to reposition. Placing the protector over the touch screen is totally sci-fi! I do not know the parameters of the material, but as you position the protector on the touch screen, the mating surfaces appear to become "wet" as they bond in place. I would do it over again and try to video to show everyone, but will leave that to someone else as I am happy to have this thing in place. The touch screen functions appear to work just fine through the protector. Frankly, I think the touch screen is an unnecessary non-feature which only adds another possibility of failure to an already complicated machine. I read a comment where someone complained about the protector not being the exact size as the screen. While this is technically true, the fraction of a millimeter that this protector is off by was acceptable to me. ... show more

    • Works Great and You Will Forget Its Even There
I never have been a fan of screen protectors because my first experience with one resulted in poor performance of the touch screen. This has not been the case with this one. It was easy to place and even though in a rush I placed it on not quite straight it was easy to remove and redo. Then one edge looked like there was a bubble under it so I just raised that edge up and let it back down and it was fixed. Now I forget it is even there, but I am glad it is. ... show more
