  • Amazing Strings!
Style: 3-Pack Size: Light, 12-53
My absolute favorite strings! These things are killer, man! They last a good long time (even with vigorous use) before you have to change them, they sound fantastic, and they're a great value for the price you pay! They're super comfortable to play, the gauge is perfect for the style of music that I play (folk/country) and as long as you wind them right at the tuning pegs they stay perfectly stable and in tune (even the infamous high E). I highly recommend these for any musician, from beginner to pro, and I personally will be a D'Addario diehard until I can't play anymore! ... show more

  • Outstanding strings at a budget price
Style: 3-Pack Size: Extra Light, 10-47
I have been playing guitar for 30+ years and I have been through nearly every brand of strings you can think of. Every time I try a different brand I regret not simply sticking with these. I like a mix of warm and bright and these definitely fill that roll. Additionally, these strings have made playing all of my acoustics nearly as easy to play as an electric which make these strings ideal for beginners and intermediate, alike. After a couple of weeks of sitting, I can pick up one of my guitars and it will still mostly be in tune. I use these strings on my Guild, Breedlove, Takamine, and Yamaha. If you are a beginner and still working on hand strength and building callouses then these strings are definitely for you. If you are intermediate and just want easier playability and like to pick out some leads on acoustic then these strings will be a game changer. I can't sing their praises enough. ... show more

  • Tone
Style: 3-Pack Size: Extra Light, 10-47
Great tone and feel right out of the pack bright, clear sound that really brings an acoustic guitar to life. They don’t last quite as long as some premium strings, but for the price and playability, they’re a solid choice.

  • Great tone and playability w best value
Style: 3-Pack Size: Light, 12-53
Like the frequency range, tone and playability of these strings on both a D-28 and Taylor w/big leaf maple that thought Elixir performed very well. For the price herein for 3 sets they’re super value for the money - Another Gardner

  • Bright and Crisp
Style: 1-Pack Size: Light, 12-53
D'Addario is known for quality strings. The light gauge is good for fretting while reducing finger tension. The 80/20 bronze strings (80% copper, 20% zinc) are know for having a "bright" sound that will give you excellent projection.

  • Initial impression: Terrible. Verdict after 2 months of playing them: really good.
Style: 1-Pack Size: Custom Light, 11-52
That might sound too drastic, but... I was replacing a set of Elixirs out of which I got 2,5 months of daily playing. I put on strings from low E to high E, getting each string in tune before I put on the next one. As I was tuning the G string, D string which I tuned right before it suddenly snapped. What the hack? I've been playing this particular guitar since 2012, but I decided to examine the G tuner hole to see if there was something wrong with its edge, but it was fine. So there goes another string from a different pack. Now on to the way they sounds on my jumbo Alvares. The sound is unbalanced, over bright, lacks in bass and is forced. But the true problem with these strings that they can only be played with a pick. I spend more time playing fingerstyle and these strings are like a perfect chainsaw for fingernails. Would I ever buy these string again? No. Would I put them on my guitar if somebody gave them to me as a gift? No. Would I give them to somebody as a gift? Well if I wouldn't like the person that they were going to strangulate with these strings - I would! 2 stars Amendment 1 After several weeks of playing I actually like the played-in sound. Upgrading my vote to 3 stars. Amendment 2 These strings still ruin my nails like no other strings ever have, when I strum strum them without a pick. But that aside, after two months of playing them daily with sweaty fingers, they still sound neither dull or nor muffled, but rather surprisingly pleasant and balanced. My favorite Elixir Polyweb would have lost their original sound by now and their famed coating would have pealed and be hanging off the strings. But these strings just keep going. Upgrading my vote to 4 stars. Amendment 3 Feb 1 2023 All right - it has been three months of playing these strings, at least an hour every day. And - despite them even sometimes being exposed to my cheddary fingers (wine + cheese + guitar), they still sound GOOD. This is truly remarkable. Yes, Polyweb keeps the bright side of played-in sound longer, but no strings have ever kept it up to such abuse without sounding like a dying cat. (I love cats.) ... show more
