I bought this UPS to solve a problem with our @#$%& Cable Box, which rebooted whenever there was the slightest glitch in our home power. The box takes up to 10 minutes to reboot, so we have often lost pieces of recorded TV shows due to quite frequent power glitches. The cable itself rarely goes out, so I knew it was just a power issue. So I bought the most basic CyberPower 425VA model, because I didn't need any fancy features, and the cable box only uses about 36 Watts, and I now have several hours battery backup for our cable box. Since hooking it up, I've tried unplugging and plugging the power supply back in, and I can't get the cable box to fail. And I was easily able to disable the alarm on the UPS, because I don't care when the power glitches, as long as the UPS continues to operate! Seems like a perfect solution to a very annoying problem at a very reasonable cost! UPDATE: This unit failed after 4 months. We had a 2-hour power outage during Hurricane Dorian, and the UPS failed after about 10 minutes. I spoke with CyberSystems customer support, and they sent a replacement unit very quickly. The replacement has now worked flawlessly for 8 months. NOTE that the manufacturer contact information Amazon supplied is WRONG and takes you to the wrong company's website. Half the sockets are battery backed up and the others are just filtered, which is fine as some items you don't need on UPS. I have not tested how long it runs my router for, but I'm guessing half an hour. It did kick in when the power is disconnected (do this at the breaker as if you do it at the socket, you lose earth) and it beeped intermittently during the outage, so I'm guessing it'll be fine in a real power outage. Build quality seems fine. Not sure if it's true SINE or stepped but for power brick/low voltage devices, it doesn't matter. p.s. I'm trying to write genuine reviews to counter all the fake ones (not necessarily on this product - just genuinely online) so if you found this helpful, please click 'helpful' so I know. This is a very nice compact UPS unit. When I got mine, I charged it, plugged in the devices, and forgot it. When I read some of the negative reviews, I decided to check out the backup capabilities of the unit. I read a question and answer that said battery was replaceable. The product description states the a battery is required, and one is included. This is deceptive. Check at the Cyberpower website: NOT user-replaceable!

    • Backup for garage opener, security camera & WiFi.

If power goes out we can still use our garage opener with this backup battery, several times. Also have plugged in 2 Ring floodlight cameras so they will keep running during a power outage. Planning on adding another UPS to keep the Internet running during any power outage.

Works great! I bought it because our AC power sometimes flickers off & on, shutting down our internet & my PC: both take a few minutes to completely reboot. So I plugged in our Verizon modem/router, our internet phone system, my PC, and my printer to the UPS outlets. Desk lights are plugged into just the surge-protected outlets. If the electrical power to our home goes out, the internet connection, phones, computer & printer stay on: I tested it by unplugging the Standby UPS from the wall outlet: all systems plugged into the UPS outlets stayed on but the desk lights went off. ... show more
