I work as a mechanic and bought this so I can cook a little something for lunch at work. First couple times you use it, smoke will come out of it from all over, and it stinks horribly. So I would recommend turning it on outside the first time and letting it burn off. The instructions that come with it do say that when you first use it, it will smoke, and it's perfectly normal. The hot plate works well. I have used it to fry some eggs, crisp up some spam and cook a few other things. So far it has been pretty durable. It gets pulled off a shelf, set up on the work bench and put back every day. Has been dropped a couple times and no visible damage, and hasn't affected function. Well pleased with it so far!

I got this hot plate for hot pot. It does great heating the pan! It kept the big pot of water at a small rolling boil for over an hour, with us adding cold meats and veggies and pasta. I started the pot on my stove and moved it to the hot plate to keep it warm, so I'm not sure how long it would take from cold to boil a pot of water. The whole base gets VERY hot, including the knows for temperature control. Something to consider based on what your use is. Overall, I'm very happy with this product!

I bought this for our travel trailer but have only tested it at home so far. The entire unit gets really hot. Even underneath. I would recommend putting it on a heat resistant surface before cooking. I like that you can use it with all types of cookware, unlike the induction cooktops which require a specific type of cookware.

I bought this for my son who was going back to college and living in a dorm,unfortunately not one with a kitchen in his room and wanted him to feel more at home with being able to cook his favorite foods in the privacy of his roon,so I took a chance and bought this portable electric stove. I wasn't sure how this would work and if it would heat up enough to cook his veggies, quinoa and omelets, but I got a call from him the next day telling me how much he loved this and how it made great omelets! He said that it heats up pretty fast and the dials work great with controlling the temperature while he is cooking his food. Regarding the safety features so far it is working great with no mishaps,just the hot plates stay hot for a good bit of time after turning dials to the off position. This is definitely a must if your kid is in college or your stove breaks down while waiting to get a new one!!

I've been using a regular hot plate while getting my kitchen remodeled. The Cusimax 1800W Double Hot Plate is far superior. I love that I have a choice of 2 different size burners so I can use the heat more efficiently. Some reviews have mentioned the surface gets hot, but so does a regular stovetop. The lower profile gives it a more stable surface so I don't worry about knocking anything off. I use it on a daily basis and it's perfect for a small kitchen. Price was a bonus!

I received my unit in mid-April, and by August it’s already a goner after using it maybe just 2-3 times a month. I don’t expect it to be a workhorse, replacing my conventional range, but the poor quality is just astounding, never mind the danger this portable single burner poses. In June, I started to notice that the entire unit, not only the two knobs, would get super hot to the touch after heating. I could not adjust the knobs without using oven mittens. Then, in August, after turning on the unit, smoke started to come out behind the knobs smelling like burnt plastic. I shut that thing off and pulled the plug pretty quickly. The whole thing could’ve burst into flames! No way, in good conscience, could I ever recommend this portable burner. The manufacturers and sellers must be aware of these dangers, but are still selling them. Talk about corporate greed.

Liked that can actually use two pans on burners. First couple of times temperature was fine. GOOD cooking time. It will get so hot on knobs a person not used to heat will feel like getting burnt. Looked great nice and satin shine,,after first time wipe down the color looks stained or mottled. The food spill near burner is cooked on,,,I tried cleaning with soda. I don't like how it looks also cuisi name started coming off as wiped . If looks don't matter it works,,,. I cleaned with vinegar and water.
