This hot plate works very well and as expected. The cord is also a good solid quality plug that inspires confidence for the long haul. The design of the on/off and temperature control is excellent. The heating surface is a great size and the hot-plate footing is solid even with a good size heavy pot. The only negative is just how long the burner stays VERY hot. To give you an idea, I boiled a 2 quart pan of water on it to make sure things were working. After that came to a boil, I turned off and unplugged the hot-plate, emptied the water into the sink, rinsed the pan in cold water to cool the pan off and filled it with cold water. I then placed the cooled pan half filled with cold water back on the hot-plate. The residual heat lasted long enough to heat the water to a point it was very uncomfortable to touch! I emptied the pan again, filled with cold water again, there was *still* enough heat to warm the half filled pot *again*. Nuts! :) ... show more

I bought this burner because we were getting our kitchen remodeled. It was supposed to be a month or two to finish. It has taken over 6 months and we still have no kitchen. This two-burner unit has saved our meals. It is not as strong as a stovetop, but that is expected. You cannot get the same heat from a plug-in unit you would get from a stove. It has been wonderful!!! It has cooked every meal for all six months and shows no sign of fading out. The stickers have faded, but the burners have not. Was without cooking gas for three months, so this became my kitchen during that period. It's fine, it does get very hot and is good at retaining heat (cast iron), so you have to watch what you're cooking doesn't boil over. Although it has two burners, it can't quite hold two regular sized pans; it can maybe hold a 8 pan and a 6 inch pan. It also started to rust, but again, it's cast iron. ... show more

I have used this cusimax single burner for two years, every day sometimes twice per day. It is still functioning as good as the first day. I am highly impressed. I needed a hotplate that could be my sole cooking companion. And I needed a unit that was compact and with moderate wattage so it didn't trip any breakers. The cast iron top is a game changer, maintaining a consistent temperature for simmering, etc. I had looked into two burner hotplates but realized that the second burner was usually for warming not cooking anyway. So I purchased this unit in October 2020 with the intent of buying a second one if needed (and if the cusimax was a sound product). Between the one cusimax hotplate, a toaster oven and a crockpot, this kitchenette has served me well. Granted I did have to modify my cooking style but I'm satisfied.
