I bought this to can with. I used a 21qt water bath canner. My larger water bath canner seemed too large and I’m glad I didn’t try using it. This burner got the job done but I don’t think it could really get a larger canner boiling properly. It is a bit slow to get to boiling, but I did manage to process 23 jars in half a day. The entire hot plate does get very hot, knobs included. Definitely use hot pads and I would recommend putting it a trivet or something similar in between your hot plate and table/countertop. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I've included a video. 16qt pressure cooker, little more than 3qts water inside. took 30-45? min to get to rocking but held steady for two hours. So my stove blew coils and I'm stressing how I'm gunna feed myself and the family. Was given a 1000w single burner which I appreciate but after using I couldn't reach the Temps I wanted. I bought this wonderful angel and she does take a fee seconds to warm up the pan of whatever your using. But watch that temp. Baby gets to cooking!     • Works Well but Has Safety Issues

First off, the blue option is absolutely gorgeous. I love this unit having an On/Off dial. This stove top cooks things really well and so far I don't have any issues with food taking ridiculously long to cook. I do want to mention that this unit has two huge flaws that are safety issues and is the reason for my rating. The dials get HOT. If the dial is set to max and you want to adjust the heat later on, you WILL BURN YOUR FINGERS. Since this unit would be my everyday cook-top, it is especially annoying to need an oven mitt to adjust the temperature every time I cook. I have never had this issue with any other hot plate I've bought. Highly recommend this company adds a turning dial - what's the point of the safety On/Off switch if you sometimes burn your hand to use it? The second issue is that the feet's "grips" are plastic. Yes. Plastic. This means if you are using it on a tile countertop, the entire unit will slide if it accidentally gets pushed or pressed. This is not safe! I've bought many hot plates in the past and the feet grips were never an issue - they were always rubber and gripped well. Highly recommend this company update this issue, as it should be an easy fix. If you are willing to put up with the hot dials and perhaps buy your own rubberized grips for the feet, the stove top actually works really well and I highly recommend the blue one, as it is especially pretty :) ... show more

Pros: Gentle heat, heats evenly (one side of the burner doesn't seem to be hotter than the other), cooks things with an even char, when used with the pans I have rated it makes our burgers juicy and delicious (less flipping and tending because it isn't out of control hot) Cons: Don't try to boil water on this baby - it *can* do it, but you might as well go on vacation and come back and it *might* be done. Takes a while to heal up just like any electric range/hot plate would. Overall good product, decent price. Have used over a year now and still going strong. I use this to brown butter and make caramel sauce - the heat is just easier to control! Would recommend. ... show more
