  • FM-15RA Filter
Excellent filter they work very good but the price did go up!

  • Amazon may send you "compatible" filters from "Spiropure"
The Culligan filters have been ok over the last couple of years. Decent job for the money. Note without comment that Culligan apparently no longer sells the faucet mounted filters--they're selling bigger units. Ordered replacements a few days ago. Definitely ordered Culligan. Got "Spiropure". Even better--Amazon was charging me the Culligan price, when Spiropure retails for about half as much. Not happy about wasting time on the return, but supposedly Amazon is giving me a full refund. We'll see. Turns out the "refund" is actually credit vs. subsequent Amazon orders, which is ok, but "credit" would've been more accurate. ... show more

  • Drinking Pieces of Charcoal
The first time I'd ordered from this same link last year, the filters were fine & worked well. However, we just opened up a filter from this batch bought recently. After leaving the filter on for 20 minutes on a few separate occasions to flush the filter (more than the instructed 10 mins), there were still pieces of carbon. It was alarming how much carbon is still in the water. We had to dump countless cups of water to no avail, so we trashed fhat filter. We opened up a new one, & that one seems to have worked after flushing. I wish I had kept the previous genuine Culligan filter/packaging I've had before to compare & taken photos of the carbon. Not sure if this batch of filters are actually genuine or if we just got a lemon. ... show more

  • Great Value
Works perfectly; easy to install; great price!

  • Does a good job but near impossible to install
I love/hate the Culligan faucet mounted filter. It does a great job filtering, I like the taste of the water, but I am considering buying another brand. Changing the filter cartridge is pushing me to another brand, as soon as I have used up my extra cartridges. They claim the cartridge exchange is easy and quick. That seems to happen for me every other time I do a cartridge exchange. The other times I spend an hour getting truly pissed off, using increasingly risky equipment to try to remove the bloody cartridge. You have to screw in a new cartridge to change the old one, but sometimes the whole setup will leak, which forces you to screw the cartridge in tighter. When you eventually try to unscrew it for removal, it’s impossible, it seems to have fused with the housing. I have today tried to unscrew it by hand. I am reasonably sure I damaged something in my thumb as it hurts when I move it. Then I tried various implements that help opening stuck lids (what can I say, I am a wimp without hand strength), and I have an impressive selection of jar openers that each work a bit differently. Unfortunately the ridges by which you hold the cartridge for unscrewing are exceedingly narrow. In the product image on Amazon the ridge looks high enough for a good grip but that is an optical illusion. The too narrow ridge is fine when the new filter isn’t screwed in too tight and therefor opens easily, but it is impossible to get a good hold when it is stuck. My various jar opener implements could not get a proper hold of the ridges and kept slipping off. I decided this didn’t work when I violently banged my hand against the kitchen table, swiping the radio down. Nothing is broken but the radio but I’ll have an impressive bruise tomorrow. Next I attempted unscrewing the ducking cartridge with pretty much every wrench I could find, which is quite a lot. My cursing may have become louder and more explicit as time went on. Same problem as the jar openers, I couldn’t get a decent grip, and the one time I did I nearly put my shoulders and back out without any noticeable effect. Clearly the cartridge had become one with the housing. Short of a hammer I couldn’t think of another tool. Which would destroy the filter housing and so render the whole setup useless. In despair I ordered a new faucet mount which is of course noticeably more expensive than the replacement filters. I hope it will arrive tomorrow but I won’t hold my breath. The new faucet mount is my third or fourth, I am not sure. I am beginning to think that the difficulty unscrewing the cartridge isn’t a bug but a feature. I have had similar problems with another brand before I moved to Culligan, but I think I will change brands nonetheless. At this point I get enough anxiety to require chemical treatment when I just think about exchanging the cartridge. So in short, it is great for filtering water but whoever designed the exchange mechanism is a sadist. As soon as I use up my extra cartridges I will go searching for another brand that won’t attempt to maim me. For all of you that decide to take the risk, good luck to you. You will need it. ... show more

  • Seems legit but hard to find
These seem like legit Culligan replacement filters, but who really knows. Hopefully Amazon does something to vet the authenticity of “genuine” replacement parts like this. In Amazon we trust, and if that doesn’t work, we in government regulators and lawyers we trust.

  • handy to have on hand
These are spare filters. We like our Culligan Water filter and being prepared for an exchange at two months works well for us.

  • Impossible to Remove
I end up using the same filter for 6 to 8 months, or more, because the old filter is almost impossible to remove. If they would design larger tabs, and space them at 180 degrees, it would be easier to get better leverage to unscrew the filter.
