I recently tried these filters, purchased from Amazon, after a growing dissatisfaction from carbon Omni filters I had been using. I only started buying the Omni, when I could no longer find the GE made carbon filters I had been buying from local grocery chains. Anyway, these Culligan Level 4 filters are awesome. My well water contains a high concentration of iron and these filters do a fantastic job of filtering that and other sediment out. Also, I've noticed a drastic reduction in *rotten egg* odor when using hot water. My water feels and tastes much softer and cleaner since using these filters. Also, when doing laundry, my clothes look more clean, which I attribute to the filter doing its job. The only reason I give the product 4 and not 5 stars is that I have to change them out about every 4 weeks, which isn't very long life. But that probably has a lot more to do with the fact that my water is so hard....so the filter life is used up quickly. Great product and I just reordered and will continue to do so as long as the price stays this good. ... show more

When I bought my house, the previous owner had in a lesser filter. I thought it was working great because I never used a water filter before and could tell a difference. When it came time for me to change the filter, I thought I'd spend a few cents more and buy these. Definitely a bigger improvement!!! These filters trap a lot of dirt that the other filter didn't. It just amazes me how much dirt is in the water we drink! The city where I live, they charge us residents and absolutely outrageous amount for our water and deliver dirty water. These filters change that for me to better water. The water in my area has been so dirty that I've this filter turn dark brown in less than a week, and other times, it took two months. At any rate, there is just no question how much dirt these waters trap and how much better it makes my water. I always have at least eight filters on hand at all times now. So 20 years ago I bought my house. It came with a Culligan whole house water filter. Well you would be simply amazed at whats in your water. You might think you have the cleanest home water on earth til you have one of these... The city I live in constantly passes all these water tests but wow seeing is believing. It cant be my pipes cause well the pipes were replaced in full after being almost 50 years old and yup I still get dirty filters so it must be getting something from my water. Honestly I would never not have some water filter as even the fact that I have to only replace a filter every 60 days or so and I joke even my toilet water is filtered its the water thats going into our bodies that is not at least filtered and all you will say is WOW after 60 days on your water. we think we have good water til we try this. It might not be so successful on chemicals but I will take what I can get. I also love the people who say I never drink the water in the house. Yup and you dont take a shower or have a dish washer either.. for the $40 the unit cost me and the roughly $6 a month it cost me for a filter I will gladly change the filter. ... show more
