It's a single-serve coffeemaker. We all know how they work and this one works just fine. Two things to be aware of: 1) It has a VERY short cord. You have to put the coffeemaker right next to the outlet on the counter. There is NO wiggle room. For your personal situation, this could be a good thing (no excess cord) or a bad thing (can't reach the outlet w/o re-arranging the kitchen - and let's face it: You've been reaching for your vitamins in the same spot for the last 27 years.... do you really want to change the morning routine now? This close to retirement?). 2) It doesn't include a basket for DIY beans. If you want to bring your own non-pre-packaged coffee, it'll cost you another $10 - $20 for the basket. This coffee maker is super easy to use: pour water in, put the pod in, and then hit the button. The water reservoir can only hold one cup’s worth of water at a time, but it is clearly marked with lines designating ounces so that you can brew the right strength for your preferences. The machine itself has a slim, sleek, and modern design that does not take up too much real estate on your counter. It heats up and brews pretty quickly. This is really an impressive, sleek piece of kitchen technology. It's as easy as -- place the mug down, push the button, remove and enjoy. One button. It's very cool. There is one big negative (at least it is to me) and that's the ridiculous looking peach handle at the top of this otherwise great looking all-black coffeemaker. So nice looking and they put this peach (?!?) handle on top. This might appeal to some, but really, it sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb. With that said... Excellent coffee maker! I have three brands of coffee pods around the house, and used them all to make sure they all fit and worked properly -- they did -- and all has been easy going with this super simple coffeemaker. It's a Cuisinart product and it shows with it being high quality, quiet, and very efficient. I took off a star only because of this top handle. Peach... really? This little single-serve coffeemaker is just what I was looking for. It will be used in our RV which has very limited counter space. This space saving coffeemaker is so easy to operate, anyone can do it. There really are no "bells & whistles" on this model, just simple and easy operation. It does, however have a automatic shutoff which is a great safety feature. My only disappointment is this coffeemaker is that my favorite travel mug is a little too tall to fit in the tray. Cuisinart is a highly respected name brand in appliances, so that did play a part in choosing this coffeemaker. I really like it! ... show more
