Awesome stand mixer! Unbelievable price drop too! Very sturdy and easy to use mixer. Plenty of power for all of your kitchen needs. I've owned and used the Kitchenaide stand mixer that I gave to my daughter when my wife passed. This Cuisinart stand mixer is just as good as that brand of mixer! I have bad arthritis which has kept me from being able to bake with the vigor I would like. I have been relegated to using a tiny bread machine. Completely unable to handle the special food requirements for my family (low-salt baking, especially). I bought the bright red Cuisinart, and seeing that most of the negative reviews were DOA, I made sure to put it through its paces immediately. I've made tons of bread, rolls, pizzas, buns, whipped cream, cookies, cakes, tortillas, naan, and even used it to make pasta - all things that were difficult for me to do by hand, and required several batches to do in a bread machine (if it managed at all). The cuisinart has been a champ. The best endorsement I can provide for it is that in the 4 or so weeks since I purchased it, I've gone through 30kg of flour. Easy enough to clean that I can use it to make the dough for pizza then turn right around and use it to make cookies for dessert. Often making 3-4 batches a day with it. Typically in the 500g to 1kg size, which it handles easily. It's an excellent tool, and I hope it lasts years but it's already allowed me to bake to my heart's content. ... show more

I once owned another brand stand mixer (the one most mentioned and the seeming standard) , but during a move it disappeared. I wanted another but the best known brand was too expensive. So I tried less expensive brands. The Cuisinart is the second I tried this time and it is fabulous and works as well as the other brand. My hobby is baking and I have used it to make some very stiff bread doughs. It takes on any challenge I have thrown at it. I did try another well know product first and it literally started smoking so badly when making bread it took days to get the electrical fire smell out of the house. I am sure this Cuisinart will last longer than I will and my granddaughter will us it for years thereafter. ... show more

This appliance is a huge step up from our old 2 beater mixers. It was well packaged and undamaged upon receipt. It appears to be a quality item; solidly built and heavy enough to stay still in use, but not too heavy to move when needed. The controls feel solid and attachments fit snugly. Although it purely an esthetic issue, the blue light ring around the speed control looks pretty cool when the mixer is turned on. Some have noted that theirs had excessive clearance between the mixing head and bowl which needed adjustment, but right out of the box ours did not have that issue. Initially there is more fluid at the bottom of the bowl, but it doesn’t take more than a minute for that to be picked up and thoroughly mixed into the dough/batter. We were pleased to find that it cleans the sides of the bowl as well as the bottom, so a spatula is no longer required to keep all of the contents mixed well. We haven’t timed it, but it also seems to thoroughly mix things faster than we are used to. The only negative to us is that the whisk, the most difficult item to wash, requires hand washing. We considered other mixers which were less expensive and another which was more expensive, but for our needs this Cuisinart seems to be almost perfect. ... show more

I purchased 3 other stand mixers and had to return them because they either broke easily or were incapable of mixing even small batches of dough. This mixer hits every mark. It's very comparable to the Kitchenaid Artisan Series, but at 1/3 the price. The mixer is sturdy metal construction. don't look any further, this one is the mixer to get. ... show more

We just used our new mixer to mix some bread dough. It worked very well and did what we expected. Love the instruction booklet as it contains quite a few mixer related receipts, and we followed the one for white bread which worked well. The motor is definitely powerful enough to mix a thick dough which is great. A couple of cons, but nothing that would stop us from buying this mixer again. The motor gets pretty warm during a mix job, but not hot enough to burn your hand; while it works fine for a single mix job (without cooling down in between), this is definitely not commercial grade (it was not advertised as commercial, so no real issues here. Too, when mixing bread dough, the motor assembly bounces up and down a bit; not particularly noisy or problematic, just something to mention. Also, the instruction book does not mention installing the stainless steel mixing bowl, so you have to figure out that is sets in the base and rotates a quarter turn clockwise to lock it in place; easy to figure out. Finally, I read someones comment that you can adjust the height of the mixing paddle with a screw in the head; this is not true. You get the height you get, although it works well so I have no issues with this. ... show more
