  • Great coffee maker
Color: Stainless Steel
I don’t usually review items but I always read them and I hope my review will help someone make a decision. This coffee maker is easy to use and the coffee tastes great. You can either grind beans, use grounds or pods if you want. The trick to keeping the mess down after using the grinder. After the grounds automatically stop, tap the grinder a couple of times. Highly recommend this product! ... show more

  • Makes a good cup, easy to use, but... Makes a good cup, easy to use, but...
Color: Black
It's a good single cup coffee maker, with some flaws... To be transparent around my rating, I bought two of these, so the flaws were not enough to keep me from buying another one when it dialed, but it did fail after a year and some months of moderate to heavy use (5-6 cups a day) The Bean hopper is large enough for several good cups of coffee. If I had to be critical, I wish the container side raised up a touch over the motor hub, as there's competition for space as you fill beans. The motor takes up 50% of the space, so beans bounce off it like it's their last shot at freedom. The first device would always make a sound like it's got a pump running quietly. After a while, all the lights would blink and needed to be unplugged. Coffee cup size would at some point become inconsistent... Eventually, this would be the startup ritual... until something inside finally gave up and I work to water all over the counter and the coffee maker inoperable. After replacing it, it's back to the well functioning single cup I've enjoyed. We will see if this is a chronic issue or just a single worn out unit and update from there. Other than those flaws, it's a really good sing cup maker with an integrated grinder! Coffee temperature: Not quite boiling hot, you can get to drinking immediately Durability: Ish. First one lasted a bit over a year. Taste: Makes a good cup. Your beans will come through. Size: It's compact and easily desk worthy. Fits any countertop. ... show more

  • Good but not perfect!
Color: Black
This, upon online viewing, seemed a great value. Simple design, small footprint, ability to store and grind beans and water were all great points! The main problem I see with the machine is its auto brew function. It seems to work as intended, but that is the problem. It is set to brew three specific amounts. The 8oz was measured at exactly 8 ounces which is good because that is what it is labeled, but what the manufacturers and designers did not seem to realize is that coffee cups usually hold 8 OZ. Who wants a cup of coffee where the coffee is to the brim and leaves no room for even the slightest tipping or bumping resulting in painful burns. This does not even account for those who like cream or sugar, which will clearly not even fit into the cup until some is removed. For an 8oz cup a maximum or 6 oz of coffee should be dispensed. As far as flavor it is on par with any brewed cup of coffee without the use of a paper filter. The filter provided with the machine works fine but you can always tell the difference between a disposable paper filter and a washable filter. The machine heats up and will brew a cup of coffee relatively fast. The auto shut off of 30 minutes seems very much excessive. The auto shut off should be instant because there is no heating to keep the coffee warm after it is brewed. So it should shut off automatically as soon as the brew process has completed. Waiting 30 minutes just seems like a complete waste to me. Overall I like the machine and I will be keeping it, although I hope if they decided to make changes they would send me a free machine because of the ideas I listed here. As far as recommendations it is really kind of iffy. If you drink coffee often and hate cleanup then this is a good machine. ... show more

  • Well made. Recommended.
Color: Black
I would highly recommend this coffee maker. It is well made and fairly compact. Really nice to have a choice of fresh ground coffee or the quick k-cup. Replaced a failed Keurig and cost less.

  • Total excitement. (Gone!) :(
Color: Black
Found the issue, called customer service, the controller was not programmed, and the tech. Help me program it. Took like 5 minutes and it was brewing coffee, I am so loving this coffee maker! Thank you Cuisinart for helping me, sorry for the first bad review, this and the service tech is amazing! :) Read on, to find out how to program if it happens to you when there are no lights, unplug machine, open coffee brew compartment, inside toward the back on the top swinging part is a button, press button 10 times, open and close brew compartment 4 times, press the power button and 10oz buttons next, then plug it in. Fixed. Delivered like 45 minutes ago, unboxed the coffee maker, wiped it clean with a damp cloth, dusty, rinsed the water tank, soaked the filter, then drained it, put the filter in the holder in the tank, added coffee beans to the grinder container, added water to the water tank, plugged the coffee maker into the wall, turned it on and then opened and shut the brew lid. Pure, NOTHING! No brew size selection lights! So I did the unplug for 5 minutes for the reset as instructed by online troubleshooting, and nothing! Well, I was so excited to get this machine, cause I've had such bad luck with coffee makers lasting, and this didn't even last anything. ... show more

  • Ideal
Color: Black
Love this thing. I bought reusable aluminum filters and paper filters that fit inside. Fresh brewed coffee without waste. It’s the perfect coffee maker. The only thing I’d like to as would be an adjustable grinder but as is it’s pretty great. The blinking lights issue discussed in these reviews is the unit indicating that it needs to be decalcified. The instructions follow: DECALCIFICATION Decalcification refers to removing the calcium deposits that form over time on the metal parts of the coffeemaker. When all the lights flash in sequence upon turning the unit on, it is time to decalcify your coffeemaker. We recommend decalcifying every month for best performance. But the frequency really depends upon the hardness of your tap water and how often you use the coffeemaker. Directions: Step 1: Vinegar Rinse • Fill water reservoir with 13 oz. of white vinegar and 26 oz. of water. • Place a mug or other container on the drip tray. • Open and close the brew head. • Press and hold the Power and 8 oz. buttons for 2 seconds to start decalcification function. • Discard contents of mug into the sink. • Repeat until Add Water light comes on. • When decalcification is complete, the Power and Grind buttons will illuminate. • Discard any remaining diluted vinegar into sink. Step 2: Fresh Water Rinse • Repeat Step 1 three times using fresh water in place of vinegar mixture. • This will clean the brewer’s plumbing and remove any residual vinegar taste. ... show more

  • Messy! Stopped working in less than a year
Color: Black
It still grinds coffee but it never lights up to brew any longer. What a waste of money, I thought Cuisinart was a good brand. While it worked, it did make a good cup of coffee but it grinds too many beans for one cup and it creates a mess at the coffee station; I’m constantly having to clean coffee grounds up on the counter and floor! I like the grinders that grind & brew without all the fuss of having to get a filter, stick it under the grinder, press the button to grind, remove the filter, close the lid, put it into the brew side close that lid, select a size and now you can brew. While you wait you can clean up the mess of the overflowing grinds and trying to snap the lid closed when it was over flowing. Actually takes longer to clean the mess than it does to brew. Nonetheless, it will not brew any longer so I can get rid of this messy machine! Never will I do this again! The other thing to note here is that the grinder while good, the item which holds the beans is a poor design. First the container (100% plastic) cannot be removed and also isn’t air tights to keep the beans fresh! So if you need to remove the beans, you have to unplug the machine, remove the water dispenser, and tip the machine upside down and shake it until all the beans fall out come out, if you forget to remove the lid, no worries it will fall off, the container for the beans is not air tight.. If you are the type that likes different beans this is NOT the machine for you because changing the beans is a PITA. If you and everyone in the house drink exactly the same thing everyday then I guess this will work for 7-10 months and then it will break. I see no advantages to this grinder from a separate grinder. A separate grinder will allow you to change the container, not be so messy, and you don’t have to keep the beans in there to go stale. It is not a quiet machine, but then no good coffee machine will be; if you want quiet get a percolator or instant! The grinder will wake any light to moderate sleeper and when it brews it builds up a pressure, heat, and spits and steams. If that didn’t wake you the wonderful aroma of fresh coffee will. The coffee is hotter than most single brews so it has that going for it, but as with most home machines everything is plastic and will cease to work much quicker than some professional machines. For $120 and not making it even a year, it is not a good value as I don’t think I even got a return on my investment being the machine cost me a $1 a day during its life. Add that to the cost of beans, waste, water, cream, sugar and labor to clean up the mess it made, it is actually cheaper to go get a cup of coffee at the coffee shop. If this were a $49 machine then maybe it would be break even! ... show more
