  • Top Quality
The best slow/multi cooker I have owned. First off I love the quality if this item. Second off I have used it several times and it is exceptional. My meals are fabulous. The best one I have ever owned.

  • Does a Great Job!
As frugal as I am, I thought long and hard before buying this slow cooker. The feature that swayed me was the browning capability. I hate browning on a stove top. When you brown in a frying pan, you have to take apart the stove afterwards, clean the top of the stove, then the greasy frying pan. Too much work so I usually avoided recipes that called for browning. This cooker does the job with no mess or fuss. The slow cooker features are fine, does a great job, and this cooker has a classy look if you use it for parties. it's super easy to clean, especially if you use a liner like I do. Worth the money for sure!! ... show more

  • Easy to use, works great
It works for browning meats right in the pan. Nice and hot. Then there are slow and high settings for slow cooking. Can also steam. Basically, cook at almost any temperature with a built in timer and keep warm function. Nonstick is good and makes for easy cleanup. I use it for taco or burrito meats mostly. Or a stew or soup. A long cook task. Otherwise, I have lots of other pots and pans and I tend to just use the smaller items for smaller or quick jobs. ... show more

  • I LOVE this cooker
I have had it for about a year and am still getting used to it. At first I struggled with it. I have kind of figured out what is best for me. On Slow Cook high I can cook my soup or whatever but I have to cook it for 10 hours to get the potatoes cooked. Or I can put it on Roast and set the temperature to 250 degrees and it will simmer at a low boil. It will cook stew done at that setting in 2 hours. Or I can turn it down after it simmers at 250 degrees to Slow Cook high and it will get done faster. I do not leave it unsupervised on the 250 degree simmer because it could boil dry. It never has but I always make sure the lid is snug. I always use the Slow Cooker Bags and there is no clean up. ... show more

  • Fabulous Unit
I have now been using this slow-cooker for well over a year and it's fabulous. I've not experienced the problems of other negative reviewers. Stay away from hard plastic utensils and use the softer silicon ones or a wooden spoon to preserve the non-stick surface. And while it says it's dishwasher safe, I'd avoid that since the temperature in a dishwasher can be very hot. I wash it only by hand since it is so easy to clean with a soft plastic scratch sponge. I purchased two refurbished units for each of our two kitchens. I liked it so much that I purchased a brand new one as a gift for a family member. The best features are the brown/sauté option and the fact that the exterior unit does get warm but not overly hot to cause a burn by touching it. I had a crock pot in the '70's and it changed the taste of the food. This cast aluminum insert will not. I've adjusted my own recipes for this size unit. One thing: the box labeling is deceptive. It says it's a 3.5 quart unit (but it is in fact a 7 quart unit). Another thing: I can't understand why it was sold with a metal insert rack. I never used the metal rack but instead, purchased a silicon rack from Amazon that would not scratch the unit and that works very well. The metal rack makes no sense. I've cooked chicken, beef short ribs, pork butt, soups and chili in the slow-cooker and the braising/sauté function expedites the prep. Go to work, make appointments, run errands while dinner is prepared. Love this unit! ... show more

  • Easy to use but beware
Light weight with easy instructions but beware that the lid handle is NOT heat resistant. That handle gets really hot if cooking on slow cook for 4 hours. I bought silicone geat resistant gribs to use when lifting the lid.

  • Versatility
Love so many cook options esp the ability to sear meat and then go straight into slow cook mode!

  • Insert Came Warped and Cuisinart charges you to return. LUCKILY AMAZON does not. But Star Rating For CUISINART company.
Last and final update because unfortunately they have dropped to 1 star now. In total I have had to return this product four times. The last time was because unit stopped turning on one day after one month. Gave it one more chance. Now this one lasted 4 months and is The final straw. This one is doing same had started to get screwy with temperature, boiling things on low and simmer, couldn't stop it from getting too hot even on low slow cook.. Then one day didn't turn on. Waited til next day and would get just light up screen no functioning. Then worked again for week. Not heating well. Now today again won't turn on. I need reliability. I'm done. Expensive and unreliable. So disappointed. —— UPDATE ON MY REVIEW: This is a great piece of equipment for your kitchen I use this every day from breakfast to lunch to dinner, to pre-making meals to put into the freezer> It has so many uses I would not be able to even list them all. Today I used it to pre-cook vegetables to use during the week. Then I made brown rice to use later as well. (I have a rice cooker, but I actually preferred to use this over my rice cooker it allows me to cook perfectly steamed rice quickly using the boil/steam button. Then I cooked meat and chicken. I also made eggs this morning. You can heat up slices of pizza (or reheat other items ) so that the cheese melts perfectly and the bottom gets a little crispy. You can prepare a meal that has various steps such as saute, roast, and then slow cook in the same pot. I absolutely love this cooker. It is a breeze to clean, you can put insert into dishwasher, but I just wipe out and wash at sink quickly dry it and put it right back. > Additionally, the following Review included my experience with Cuisinart's policy on their products. I purchased this MSC-800 cooker and was very excited to receive it and start using it. I have owned multicookers before and think they are a great item for my needs. When this cooker arrived, I put it to the test right away. Unfortunately after a few different tests I realized that the cooker insert is slightly warped and therefore causing uneven heating and cooking, temperature etc. Ok, this is alright, things like this happen. I called Cuisinart and they tell me that it is a Limited Warranty and that they will replace it, but I have to pay to ship it to them. I explained again that I had just gotten it 3 days before, did I really have to Pay to ship it to be replaced? The agent was so rude that I had to ask for a supervisor. Long story short she lied said there wasn't one, I had to call back and start all over. Cuisinart does in fact feel that YOU should pay to ship a defective product to them. One that cost hundreds of dollars and did not work properly from the start due to a manufacturing defect. This made me feel so badly as a customer. My first Cuisinart purchase. feeling like I made a mistake because of such a sad way to treat a customer. Thank goodness for AMAZON. They Made this experience better. They are sending me a new one before they even get this one. Thank you AMAZON. So, This is going to be a two part review. I do look forward to having a working cooker, but I will also note in that review that I am not feeling very warm and fuzzy about Cuisinart MSC-800 Cook Central 4-in-1 Multi-Cooker, 7 quart and will not be purchasing another product from their company. ... show more
