2 Years and Still Loving it!!!

I’ve owned the Cuisinart CPZ 120 for two years, and it has quietly become the most reliable, high performance pizza tool in my kitchen. Having made hundreds of pizzas with it I certainly got my money’s worth and people say to me all the time, “Where’d you get this pizza? It’s the best pizza I’ve ever had.” They’re shocked when I tell them I have a Cuisinart home pizza oven. Initially I treated it like a novelty appliance to use indoors during the winter months when I couldn’t use my fancy wood fired pizza oven outside. But over time, I realized it behaves like a miniature deck oven, fast preheat, consistent heat balance, and a chamber that responded even more beautifully when I added a steel pizza pan ($30). The magic of this oven is its geometry: it’s small enough to heat up quickly (15 minutes), but large enough to do 12” pies, allow airflow around a steel pan, and to reach temperatures in the 700-degree range to make traditional Neopolitan pizza, crispy NY and New Have setyle, and Detroit pan pizzas. Once I added a cast steel pan, the entire thermal profile changed. Suddenly I were getting even crispier, slice shop bottoms, even melted cheese, and repeatable results that rivaled and exceeded my outdoor oven. I also have quick recovery between pizza and are back up to temperature in 5 minutes, which is about how long it takes me to get my next pizza ready. The Cuisinart recovers heat quickly, handles par baked and frozen pies better than anything else I own, and produces a texture that feels like a professional oven. After two years of heavy duty use it still performs like day one, nothing has warped, failed, or degraded. Even if you don’t pair it with a steel pan, this is a precision pizza instrument, not a gadget. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to get into serious pizza making and produce consistent, better than restaurant quality results without the hassle of propane or wood. Looks great (under corner cabinet)! Well designed. Very convenient.
Color: Stainless Steel
Good compromise between convenience, appearance, and size of pizza. Really nice for a 12" pizza! Only takes like 5-7 min per pizza. Even though 12" pizza is on the small side (and who doesn't like larger slices?) It makes great pizzas, and you can start eating and enjoying one while next one is in the oven. Making larger pizzas is a bigger investment of money and time. It's not really a big hassle to make 2-3 small pizzas instead of a larger one. You can set time & temp for many styles. It has a nice indoor light, great nice pizza paddle, stone, tray. And summary settings instructions on the unit, so you don't need the booklet all the time. They nailed the cosmetics and functionality. Warm-up time is the same as typical (even outdoor propane ovens have a substantial pre-heat time). To have something this good looking, right there in on your kitchen counter, for quick easy use is just cool. The perfect location in our kitchen is under the angled corner cabinet. That way it presents the cool face of the unit without awkwardly protruding. And makes the kitchen look upscale. ... show more

if you like to make your own pizza, this is it. Great performance, use it a lot. Highly recommend it. I will say you want to do your cooking outside though because it will smoke at times.

Great oven
Color: Stainless Steel
We just bought this oven and have been testing it out. There is a slight learning curve as with everything. The oven gets hot and cooks pizza awesome. We have not yet tried anything but pizza yet. Honestly the neapolitan rocks. Pros- gets nice and hot, cooking time short, thought it cooks fairly even without spinning pizza. All controls worked fine. Nice bright light inside. Cons- the pizza peel is terrible and takes a decent amount of flour to get it to a point it will slide off, which is a must. Tried corneal and that's a little more messy. Cleaning out kind of a pain, should come with a brush and scraper. Takes awhile to heat up and can be loud but not terrible and that honestly didn't really bother me Tips- we have not mastered thin crust. But neapolitan we are close. I discovered that i don't love crust made with any oil, it's better with just flour, salt, water and yeast. Our crust was good but we are perfecting and will get even better, just need a few more test runs. We like putting fresh mozzarella on after it bakes to avoid water. Some toppings should be somewhat pre cooked due to short cook time and water content reduction. All and all, we would recommend it even though a little more expensive. You get what you pay for and this oven did not disappoint over all. Gave only 4 rating for pizza peel and cleaning with no cleaning tips or brushes provided. ... show more

Well, very quickly produce a ton of smoke that will smell up your whole house
Color: Stainless Steel
This thing smoked out my whole entire kitchen and set off my fire alarm the very first time I used it. The pizza wasn’t even in that long. I returned immediately.

Delicious pizza.
Color: Stainless Steel
Makes delicious pizza! However, still trying to figure out how to get dough to slide easily from the peel. Loose cornmeal builds up during the baking of several pizzas and caused a small fire during one session. Easy enough to clean although a bit of a pain. Glad I bought at sale price, though. This would not have been worth full price to me. ... show more

Slow to heat even to 360°
Color: Stainless Steel
This oven, for the price is fine. Not fantastic, but fine. I have had no problem with the quality of the pizza bake or the peel. But I’ve made many a pizza. NB: for true Neapolitan pizza, your HOMEMADE dough should be made with 00 flour and left to “ferment” for 24 hours before using. My complaints are: - controls are not intuitive. Once the pizza heats to temperature, you must press the timer button AND start. Since we’re all used to modern microwaves, I’ve forgotten how to press “start” every time. One would think that if the oven is to temp, it’s to temp and no more other buttons need to be pressed. It’s redundant and should just be a timer. - they are honest about it, but yes, it takes at least 1/2 for the oven to heat to 600-700°, and the oven is loud both in the preheat and cool down modes. - the only way to really turn off the oven, according to directions, is to unplug it. This makes me nervous & it’s a pain to unplug in my kitchen set up. - honestly, there are a couple of toaster ovens that heat to 700° or so, and they’d be a better buy. This thing really only does pizza and maybe roasted asparagus or green beans (which are admittedly excellent at the higher temperatures.) - I was hoping this would be a bit more multi-functional: maybe I could use it as a salamander for steaks? But no, the spatter would be dangerous and impossible to clean. - do I regret the buy? I think so. ... show more
