I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this baitcasting reel and with how well it worked. I'm still a noob when it comes to baitcasters, this is only my second one, my first one was a cheap Shakespeare rod and reel combo that cost $30 all together, and this reel is a thousand times better than my Shakespeare setup. It's very smooth, it has great 11 magnet, I think it is, brake, easy to adjust spool tensioner and drag adjuster. I forget the gear ratio for this reel, but they are great to, you have total control in how fast or slow you want to reel, and it is dead silent. The spool is good, nothing super fancy, no ports or holes in the spool, and I had no problems at all spooling 30lbs braided line on it, it didn't slip on me and I was able to get a nice tight spool, and I didn't have to use mono to start spooling. Adjusting the brake and spool tensioner was easy, like I said I'm still new to baitcasters and I only birds nested 3 times the entire week I was there, twice it was my first cast after changing lures, I made the proper adjustments, I just wanted prepared for the difference after loosening the magnets, and the 3rd time my lure got snagged on my back swing on a life jacket that someone hung up on my tower to dry out at the end of the day and forgot to take it down. This reel held up great to, especially for wut I payed, I purchased it on Prime day for like $30 I think and I was leaving for vacation that weekend, shipping was very fast, arrived in 2 days with plenty of time to spare before I left for vacation, a one week trip to Bass Lake, California. If ur not familiar with Bass Lake its near Yosemite and it's where they filmed that movie, The Great Outdoors, fishing is usually great there and this reel held up great. I caught about 10-12 Bass, mainly just 1-2 pounders, nothing special, with my largest catch being a 4-5 lbs large mouth bass. Overall this is a great baitcasting reel for a beginner or an experienced angler, my cousin only uses baitcasters for the past 10+ years and I let him try this one out and he was very impressed with this reel, he said he couldn't tell a difference between this and his Abu Garcia, his Lews, or his shimano baitcaster reels, he said it performed just as good if not better and honestly I think that's probably one of the best compliments you can say about a less expensive "budget" reel like this. I will definitely buy more Sougayilang products, as long as their quality is as good as this reel. I would highly recommend this reel

It Casts, retrieves, backlash control, excellent drag. Smooth reel. Works as good as my reels costing two to three times as much. I'm very pleased with the reel. spooled it with thirty pound braid straight to a Jackhammer.

I usually fish Shimano but I basically got this free with my Amazon points, so I bought it. I’ve been reading about these and seeing them a lot. Even though I have not used it yet, everything seems tight, we’ll balanced and functional. This was $35.00 and is an incredible buy for that price. I recommend it.

The real itself is good. It reels in perfectly and the spool control and spool tension knobs do their intended purpose to allow a good repetitive cast. The only problem I had was that the clear coat came completely off within a months time and the drag went out from wear over about 6 months ...I caught alot of big bass with this reel so for the price I think it did its job. Wish the clearcoat wouldn't have came off but it just looked bad but worked great.

I've bought 30 reels of various kinds from Sougayilang over the past 3 years, and they have all been good, except for this one. The breaking system has tolerance issues which allows the line spool to wobble and creates a gap between the reel frame and spool. Consequently, the line gets tangled up on the spool shaft. You then have to remove the breaking system to fish your line off of the shaft. Also, this poor tolerance issue causes poor reel performance while casting and retrieval. Reel functionality is very rough. I also bought two other bait casters when I purchased this one and they are fine. I'm currently trying to return this one, but I don't have this option cause Amazon doesn't show it's been delivered.

Im a frugal guy and not at all experienced with bait caster reels so I didn’t wanna spend 100s of dollars on one. I used this reel the entire weekend and didn’t have any issues other than user error. When I got the hang of it, I could cast, accurately, 40+ yds without bird nesting or backlash. The brake system is a little confusing as there’s 2 things to turn and nearly no explanation as to how to set the brake and being new to it I just kept them the same and adjusted them together.
