So you want to make ice cream at home? You can do it. Easy to follow instructions. Read several recipes and choose one to start with. I am really loving this so far! I’ve made 3 batches of the vanilla ice cream recipe adding mix ins to each like grilled peaches, frozen raspberries and heath bar bits. It’s easy to learn and the safety feature makes me feel more comfortable holding this. Only con I have is wish the tops to the pint containers were silicone and had a slight stretch to them but that is a very minor detail. I would say start small, plan 24 hours ahead. And be patient when you’re ready to blend for the soft serve consistency (depending on where you live) I’d suggest letting the pint sit out for about 10 minutes. The first blend should be slow and make sure you blend all the way down, this thing is powerful so it will break up the solid block of ice cream but you may want to stir and make sure you get the sides and bottom 😉. Fun and consistent performance! Easy easy clean up! Once the ice cream is no longer connected to the motor the blade will not turn on even if still plugged in (very helpful for a clumsy girl like me) your first blend may look a little icy, wait 2-3 minutes and then blend again it will soften. If you’re in a rush add a splash of cream or milk. The consistency is lighter than store bought ice cream and with little to no stabilizers or emulsifiers to hold its shape it goes from soft serve to very soft quickly. There is a bit of an icy taste (but that’s possibly my user error 😅) Next batch will be Dubai chocolate using the vanilla ice cream recipe , 1 tbsp of chocolate shell and mixing in a 3 oz bar of Dubai chocolate I’ve found at Aldi! The flavor possibilities are endless! I bought some organic strawberries to make sorbet and am looking for to it! You control the sugar and ingredients and you can always adjust! Remember you can always add more but you can’t take out too much 😁 Other suggestions- mix ins go to the $$$ store and get a few boxes of the movie theater candy. Turn vanilla base into your favorite ice cream. M&Ms, Reese pieces, peppermint patties would all work really well! Also once you blend this let’s say by some miracle there is ice cream left, once it goes back into the freezer it will freeze solid and need to be re-mixed before eating again. Last tip- invest in the larger ice cream cups! The half pints go fast when you share with 2 people 😜 definitely recommend, you can also make granita. It’s worth it in small batches. ... show more

Wow, so much more convenient then my old Cuisinart Ice cream maker and it's giant 2 quart bucket that takes up have the freezer! Also makes creating different ice creams for each person much easier, I don't like chocolate but now everyone gets what they want.
