  • I scream for ice cream!
This has worked very well for us. The recipe for Mexican chocolate ice cream was a big hit with my family. Frozen yogurt was great and I even over filled it a little and it still turned out fine. I like that it is not a lot of pieces. I thought that one was missing because the top is open (I have never had one of these before, but once I used it, I understood why the top was open.) And I keep my freezer bowl in the deep freeze (at -5) all the time, which I did not ever want to do, but it is not a big deal at all. I seal it in a 2 gallon ziplock bag and for some reason that makes it easier to get out without freezing my fingers off. Also it helps that the device works so quickly. I put the ice cream in a tub, wash the bowl and return the bowl to the freezer. We usually eat the ice cream right away. ... show more

  • No problems
When I purchased this I knew if was "refurbished". It looked new. I have had no problems and use it at least twice a week. Makes great ice cream in about 20 minutes. Can't wait to try other flavors.

  • Great Introductory Ice Cream Maker
This isn't a professional grade ice cream maker, but it is a good introduction model for casual use. We've had it for 7 months now and use it once or twice a month. It is loud, and you have to plan ahead so that the bowl is completely frozen before you start, but it is a heck of a lot better than the hand crank models I used growing up! Our refurbished model has small a crack on the base, but it doesn't interfere with the operation of the device, but that is the trade off for a big discount. It does a fine job making ice cream...the bottom liquid gets frozen harder than the top and can be difficult to remove, but that really isn't a complaint, just an observation. We've made custard recipes (with eggs), but we found them too rich for us, so we stick with the quick and easy cream based recipes. We mostly make peanut butter (try substituting almond butter!) and cocoa based chocolate ice creams. It is fun to make new recipes and it isn't too big to store away when not in use. Eventually, we will probably spend the big bucks to get a big fancy model, but this was a great intro to ice cream making! ... show more

  • Don't waste your money
Don't waste your money! This isn't an icecream maker. You could mix ingredients in a bowl and freeze for same effect. This is a JOKE

  • best Ice cream!
I wasn't sure what to expect with this machine but I have to say it is pretty awesome. I have made several batches of ice cream (different flavors) and they all turned out perfect. If fact better than any store bought ice cream. We had company visit us and after making some for our guests they went online that night and ordered one for themselves. I can't speak on how long it will last but so far so good! ... show more

  • ... works ok but the noise it makes is so annoying I can't use it
I guess it works ok but the noise it makes is so annoying I can't use it. My cats literally run from the room. Also the bowl spins but as soon as the mixture starts to freeze it just clumps in the center sticking to the paddle and doesn't continue mixing the bowl just keeps spinning without mixing anything. All that aside it's the noise that's a deal breaker. ... show more

  • Why did I wait so long??
I have wanted one of these for yrs, and when I saw this refurbished model, I jumped on it. I am having a blast experimenting on different ice cream recipes! Pinterest has plenty of recipes. I bought my KitchenAid stand mixer and blender refurbished and have never had any problems.

  • I REALLY THOUGHT THIS WAS POOR.
NO WHERE IN THE AD (BEFORE I MADE THE PURCHASE) DID IT SAY THIS WAS A "REFURBISHED" UNIT. I DID NOT KNOW THIS UNTIL IT CAME, AND THEN I SAW IT ON THE BOX. I REALLY THOUGHT THIS WAS POOR.
