This litter is the best I've used! No scent at all (that I can tell). It clumps really well, and is easy to scoop every day. Tracking has gotten much better with this litter as well. No cat odors with this litter either. The only complaint is that it produces quite a bit of dust when pouring in, and when scooping. A lot. But the litter works well, so I can deal with that. This has to be the best litter on the market. I did a lot of research and looked at all the reviews for every litter and decided to purchase this litter. I was very hesitant because it is expensive compared to most others. Our Kitty's urine smell is over the top and after one day, one week and one month, there was NO strong urine smell. This litter does clump well, has a slight scent that isn't bad or overwhelming, and cleans up well-ish. Sometimes it gets stuck to the bottom of the litter box which can be annoying. The biggest disappointment is the dust. Every single time I scoop, there is a plume of dust. My cat is sneezing now because of it everytime she goes in the box and swipes to cover. I am a new convert to this litter as of a few months ago! I have been using Dr. Elsey’s for a couple years and just couldn’t handle the quality inconsistency and glue-like clumps. I also tried the unscented versions of Tidy Cat and they smelled bad really fast. I got really tired of trying cat litters, but this one had mostly good reviews so I thought I’d give it a shot. I have two male cats, one litter box (works fine for them) and I scoop religiously every morning and evening. I fully change out the litter every 2 weeks. One of my cats pees on the high sides of the litter box, onto a liner and then the pee drips down into the litter. I always had issues with Dr. Elsey’s because it stuck to the side and then broke apart in gross-smelly, gluey clumps when I tried to scrape it off. This Fresh Step litter makes hard clumps and absorbs super fast. That being said, I don’t shake the clumps very much when I scoop, since I don’t like taking the chance of a clump breaking apart. Honestly, there IS some dust when I pour in the new litter. I don’t mind this. I don’t notice any dust when the cats are digging. It is not excessive, and (don’t hate me) I think the VERY slight dusty quality makes the scent absorbency better. The scent absorbency is another award I’d give. I hate smelling cat litter, whether it’s the pee or the perfumey scent added by the litter company. This is unscented AND it covers scents so well! I had major scent issues in the past with every litter I’ve ever tried. Dr. Elsey’s was sometimes OK, sometimes horrible, and I could never figure out why. Anyway, I love this stuff and I will probably be a customer for life! I am set up to get a 37lb set of boxes every 2 weeks and that works well for a large litter box with 2 cats. ... show more

I had tried clumping litter years ago but my cats hated it. So for years I lugged bags, and bags, of clay litter. My back can't do it anymore. This particular litter is in fact without scent. It says low dust, there's dust, but it's fine. The cats are using all their litters everytime. It clumps very well and I finally think we're all happy ... show more

It seems the formula is different. The litter does not clump as firmly as it once did, but crumbles easily making clean-up more complicated. It does not contain odors and tracks excessively.
