Easy and simple to use, very reliable thus far. We mostly use this for sandwiches, burritos, and pitas. Basically, assemble your food, preheat to 450 and just a few minutes will add some great looking/tasting grill marks. Makes my burritos hold together better and the crispy tortilla is so good. Wife grills pitas and eats them with some feta and hummus. We don't even clean it off every time, as unless some stuff leaks out, the plates stay clean. The angle of the top plate can adjust to accommodate big burritos or stay flat to cover just a single pita. We have used this for chicken breasts a few times but I have a grill and tend to cook a lot of meat at once so I tend to use that instead since I can only fit so much meat on the griddler at once. If you eat less meat, I'd highly recommend this for that use. I've used it for pancakes on one side and eggs on the other side. My only complaint about this kind of use is that the top plate does not rest completely flat. Needed for things like eggs. It's easy to just pop off the plates and clean them off in the sink when needed, there is also a plastic cleaning device for getting in between the spaces on the grill side of the plates. If I had to nitpick, it's that the stainless steel outside is just like any other stainless steel appliance, meaning it's a lot of work to keep it as clean as the first day. In fact, mine now has brown spots around the edges where the plates are, presumably from spray-on oils we've used in the past or just oils from meats we've cooked. There is also a grease catch in the back but it sticks out so little out that it's laughable and so when we push things off the back, they often just fall onto the counter. Then, in order to pull out the grease catch, you have to slide it diagonally out from the side, meaning that anything in it gets scraped across the bottom of the device. I've been cooking large meals every Sunday for the past 5 years for lunch for me and my husband so I was looking for something to up my game. And let me tell you, I found it in this product. Cooking chicken breast is magic - depending on how thinly the breast is sliced it could be literally 5 minutes (using both sides to cook the same breast like a panini) and then your chicken will be grilled with an internal temp > 165 degrees F. Frozen turkey burgers go on (again, like a panini) and you go from frozen to cook in 5 minutes (at 375). Asparagus is quick and easy and I've done some other meats too (Korean Kalbi is perfect for this.) What makes this stand out is that it's actually REALLY easy to clean. Drain out and clean the catchment that catches all the oil and juices from the cooking and detach the cooking plates. I used to put the cooking plates in the dishwasher but noticed that some grime kept sticking around on the grill side so I soak them in soap and water for a few minutes and scrub them by hand (which takes less than 1 min.) It's really spectacular for meal prep for 2 people - I can mass produce 3 pounds of marinated chicken breast in 20 min. Definitely recommend. ... show more

We have done grilled steaks on this, and it all works beautifully. The meat is seared evenly on both sides at the same time, and there is a lot less smoke, and no smoke alarm going off the way they always did when we used the stovetop. Works really great for Panini pressed sandwiches too. You can even use a burrito-sized Tortilla and do the Sandwich fold method if you prefer less carbs. Pictured are a Chibata roll Panini, a grilled Rib-eye steak ( remove early - continues to cook while resting) the steaks came out sooooo juicy and delish, and finally a Tortilla Panini. I also added the how-to diagram for folding the tortilla sandwich for pressing, so the fillings don't all fall out. (See the final photo). The only negative is the cord is very short. That will limit where you can set it up when in use. Otherwise, this is a really easy-to-use, reliable, easy-to-clean unit, that heats up quickly and maintains the temp evenly throughout the cooking surfaces. Works great.
