    • I am looking for a better dehydrator. Won't buy Cuisinart again
Had unit for 7 weeks. Stopped working and only made a buzzing noise when turned on. Called Cuisinart and was told to pay for shipping the old unit back and also pay for shipping a new unit. Not work the hassle. I am looking for a better dehydrator. Won't buy Cuisinart again.

i bought this for my aunt to make me beef jerky and dried pineapple for when I hiked the John Muir Trail in 2016. Since then she has been using this to make me batches while I continued to travel and now that I am home I bought myself one to keep making beef jerky, which I've found making your own jerky is better than anything you can get store-bought, especially with the right marinade recipe :) ... show more

    • Not as good as Presto and down right annoying to use.
Bought this one as a slightly cheaper alternative to our presto. I use our presto for jerky and we wanted one for fruit only since we grow figs and apples. Got this one and my first batch of dried apple chips ALL stuck tot he trays so bad that they broke apart when trying to get the off. The trays are not even remotely easy to stack. If you dont get it just right, they wont connect right at all. First time using it and a strong smell of plastic came out of it too and onto our apple chips. Our presto works better, has a quick reference lable on the top for times and temps. The trays stack flawlessly and the food doesnt stick. Ordered another Presto. The extra few bucks is more than worth it. ... show more

It is my first one and I will make sure and do more research for the next one I get, mainly the heat settings, this one by my measurements does not get over 135 degrees on its highest setting.

    • Beef Jerky Made Easy
I use this dehydrator to make beef jerky all the time. It holds a lot of product and has several settings to dry different kinds of food items. I highly recommend it.

I’ve used this machine almost every week for the past couple months. Makes great beef jerky. My daughter makes mango. I guess if you were drying food in your bedroom it would be a little loud. I turn it on and leave it overnight and it’s never bothered me. The base is a little difficult to clean which is why I gave it 4 stars. I recommend it and would buy it again. Works fantastic and does everything it is supposed to do. Only thing I don't like about it is that the racks arent as easy to line up as I think they could have been. My old dehydrator was also round and it didnt require you to line it up perfectly for them to snap together. It just happened very easily and organically. Witg this one, sometimes it takes me about 10 seconds to get it to line up just right and it makes me a bit irratated by the time I have fussed with a few trays. Still a great product though! :) ... show more
