Description

Now making the perfect rice dish is easy with the brushed stainless Cuisinart Rice Cooker. Its steam vent helps to prevent splattering, while its chrome-plated handles stay cool to the touch. Use the built-in tray to steam other foods while the rice is cooking; when you're done, the non- stick coating and durable construction make cleanup a breeze. Healthy cooking and sleek modern design meld in this rice cooker from Cuisinart. Finished in a handsome brushed stainless steel, the square cooker features rounded corners, chrome-plated handles, and a glass lid with a stainless rim, chrome knob, and steam vent hole. Inside you'll find a high- quality, stainless-steel steaming basket and a nonstick cooking bowl that produces 8 to 15 cups of rice. The cooker also steams vegetables and thin cuts of meat, creating a complete, fat-free meal with little effort. Besides various types of rice, the cooker cooks couscous, polenta, oatmeal, boiled eggs, shrimp, and much more. An included booklet presents gourmet recipes for such mouth-watering meals as Creamy Parmesan Risotto with Asparagus, and Teriyaki Steamed Chicken with Cranberry Wild Rice. Cuisinart gives this upscale rice cooker extra panache with a cord that pulls out and then retracts for storage. One lever is all that's required to flip the machine on. Two different colored LED lights illuminate, one during the cooking phase, and the other when the machine automatically switches to warm when cooking is done. Included with the machine are a textured plastic paddle for stirring and serving, and a plastic measuring cup calibrated specifically for rice. All the unit's removable parts are dishwasher-safe. The cooker measures 9 by 9 by 10 inches, and is covered by a three-year warranty. --Ann Bieri

  • Easy To Use Rice Cooker For Up To Four People
Size: 4-Cup Style: Rice Cooker
I bought this Cuisinart rice cooker in 2006; it still works as of 2019. Growing up I was afraid of cooking and doing it on my own as an adult. It was your typical adulthood fear. I partially wished my mom cultivated me to cook more as a child, but it doesn't matter now because I learned on my own. And it helps that I have my mom's chef genes. — COOKING RICE — Cooking rice with this is super easy. Here are my general steps: 1. Scoop the rice you intend to eat into a bowl; I find 1/2 to 3/4 cup per person is a good portion. 2. Clean the rice by pouring cold water into the bowl to near-full while mixing the rice around with your hands for a minute. This helps to clean off debris and remove any surface starch that can make rice gummy. 3. Let rice sit for 5-10 minutes. Empty out the water, and repeat the rinsing and waiting until the water is clear. Three rinses is usually enough to get the rice moist and clean. 4. Drain the water out of bowl, and pour just the rice into the cooker. 5. Pour in water. I usually add slightly more than 3/4 cup of water per cup of rice. So 1.5 cups of water for 2 cups of rice, etc. I don't usually add more than 1 cup of water to 1 cup of rice. 6. Important: Add the stainless steel steaming basket to the top of the container so that it looks like it's 5 inches taller, then, put on the cover. This piece helps with steaming and prevents bubbling overflow. 7. Press the Cook button and wait until it flips back up. You're done! — FLAVORING — If you want to flavor your rice, I would add whatever spices you would like after Step 4, and mix it in with the water of Step 5. I usually add coconut milk, or Cajun seasoning. Experiment and discover. — CRITIQUES — I've read people's critiques and from the sound of it it seems like they're doing things wrong versus this item not working properly. A lot of reviews usually say two things: it overflows, which can be prevented by adding the stainless steel steaming basket to the top, and adding the right amount of water. The second critique is that rice doesn't come out cooked. That can be fixed by soaking it, and making sure you using the appropriate amount of water. Also, don't try to cheat by adding dry rice and water to this and pressing cook; you definitely need to soak the rice and soften it up first because it will end up not cooked if you attempt taking a shortcut. — SUMMARY — This is a great 4-cup rice cooker that is easy to use. • Perfect Rice, every time!
Size: 4-Cup Style: Rice Cooker
PERFECT rice. I used the larger size for over a decade before it kicked the bucket. The stainless steel really stands up to a decade of cleaning. Just got the smaller size today and it's just as good as the big one. Made rice twice since it arrived this morning. The machine is made well and I have no doubt I've got another great machine here. It makes just the right amount for 2 to 6 people. It can't be easier to use: you just put the rice in, water to the line and press the button. ... show more

  • Very easy to use and makes consistent rice every time.
Size: 8-Cup Style: Rice Cooker
I primarily use this to cook rice and it works great. I really like how you just set it and forget it and the rice comes out perfectly done every time. It can't be any more easy to use, just add the rice and water and flip the switch.

This rice cooker has operated as expected. It fits neatly into a cupboard. The rice cooked perfectly and in the time the cooker stated it would cook.

  • bad to the point of unusable
Size: 4-Cup Style: Rice Cooker
this is such a poorly designed rice cooker for a lot of little reasons and a few big. 1: the rim where the lid rests has divots/dimples that do not allow the lid to nest flushly. inexplicably there are three evenly spaced along the edge of the inner rim. aligned and flush on one side, there's a huge gap on the other and vice versa. there's just no way for it to sit flush and neat with a seal of any kind. such a major fail that it presents several issues. -the first of which is a huge mess, even when cooking small amounts the water bubbles up and out and over the edge. I have to clean the exterior of this thing every single time, not just the inner pot. I am not this messy. this pic is after one use. -the rice inside spoils very quickly or dries out without an ability to close properly -the glass lid is incredibly unstable whenever moving the unit as it dangerously wobbles 2: glass lid. this has already had to be replaced simply because it is dangerously insecure and wobbly. it has fallen to it's death once already and come close a few times more. 3: no auto shutoff. if you make rice, scoop some and walk away, the following morning you'll come back to the unit still on as well as with dried out rice. not only is this a huge headache, an issue that every rice cooker I've had in the past has been able to contend with but it's a major electricity parasite not to mention waste of rice. whoever designed this needs to reevaluate their life or Cuisinart needs to hire a halfway competent r&d dept. save yourself a headache and buy any asian brand that figured these minor issue out from the get go. I tried to buy American but unfortunately it's backfired again. ... show more
