I chose this toaster at least in part because it was a black stainless steel that matched my other appliances and has a pleasing retro look on my counter. It's also a bit sturdier than the other "stainless steel" toaster I tried. As others have noted, the dial to set the toasting level is kind of loose and moves with the slightest bump. Doesn't feel like you get a locked in setting, but it hasn't been a significant issue. The other problem is that it does tend to toast darker on the inner side of the toaster than the outer one. This means you end up with slightly uneven toasting. I end up turning the bread around and toasting another 30 seconds or so. Overall an okay toaster that looks good, so I kept it. ... show more

My kids live on toast for breakfast, and our old toaster was not working well anymore. Purchased this one and overall, I really like it. My only fault with it is that the temperature dial is very "loose" and can be moved easily without knowing you have done so. For example, I accidentally bumped it after pushing down the toaster and ended up burning the toast. Again, not a biggie, but something to keep in mind. I wish it had a sturdier dial. ... show more

This was a gift for my daughter who asked for a red toaster with a bagel setting and a setting for frozen waffles. This had it all. A good price and a good name brand. She was very happy with this and loved the retro design on the knobs.

This is the second time I've bought this toaster. The first time I felt it was well made and it lasted about 6 or 7 years, making great toast. Not bad for the price. This time, with my second one, you have to push the lever down several times to get it to stay down and start toasting. I returned another manufacturer’s toaster and got this one. This product toasts the bread without making it hard or tasteless. Totally love it. FYI—in order to keep the toast in the down position, I have to softly push the lever down—if it goes down too fast, it will not latch and pops right back up (that was my reason for 4 stars for “ease of use”. ... show more

My 8 yr old toaster died-got another kitchen aide and it burned everything on 1. So this looked like a possible toaster I was looking for. Yes---the temp control knobs are sloppy loose but it is not a problem if you watch what you are doing. You do have to hold the lever down about 5 seconds but not a big issue. 1 gives you warm toast, 1/12 starts to get a bit darker and by 2 it toasts pretty brown and would be great for bagels. This has 1/2 increments which is handy which I've never had before. Has the cleaning slots on the back bottom for cleaning and it like it's looks. Toaster is nice looking and easy to use. I find that it feels a little cheap. Don't think it will last as long as my 25 year old Sunbeam. Temperature control seems off. Takes a little longer to get to my desired toasteeness.
