  • Perfect cup of hot coffee every single time Perfect cup of hot coffee every single time
If you like a hot, delicious cup of coffee, this is the machine for you. Fill the machine with beans and water and press the button for a perfect cup of coffee. It grinds the beans, drops them into its filter hopper and brews the coffee into your cup. The total process takes under three minutes. We used to brew an entire pot and throw away half of it so we are using less coffee. I use paper filters instead of the gold metal filter it comes with. That makes it easier to clean between cups. It looks nice on the counter even though its design is a bit old fashioned. The part that I also appreciate is that it is easy to clean. The entire burr grinder pops out to make it easy to wipe off oily coffee bean residue. The basket that holds the filer comes out very easily to dump between cups. I suggest purchasing a rolling tray to pull the machine out from under the cabinet. It does generate a bit of steam during brewing and it makes the water receptacle easier to reach. It if generates an error or refuses to brew, check yourself. It is probably stopping you from brewing the a second time into the filter basket or needs water or beans. Smart machine, just pay attention to it. ... show more

  • Trash Built In Grinder
I really wanted to love this Cuisinart Grind and Brew machine, but the built in burr grinder completely ruins it. The grinder is honestly absolute trash. No matter what settings I tried, the coffee consistently came out overly acidic and bitter and completely undrinkable. To make sure it was not just the beans or the brewing side, I used my own separate grinder with the same machine. The difference was night and day. The coffee came out smooth, balanced, and exactly how it should taste. That confirmed it. The issue is 100 percent the built in grinder. It is frustrating because the idea of an all in one machine is great, but the execution here is terrible. The grinder produces inconsistent grounds and completely messes up the flavor. At this point, the grind and brew feature feels useless. If you are considering this machine for convenience, do not. You are better off using a separate grinder and avoiding this one altogether. The built in burr grinder is a huge disappointment and brings the entire machine down. ... show more

  • Love this coffee maker!! Love this coffee maker!!
This coffee maker is outstanding. Grinds the coffee then make it one cup at a time. Just a tad noisy when grinding the beans but after all they are hard beans and it’s only for a few seconds. Different settings for strength and size and coffee is really nice and hot -the way I like it. One negative on it, the on/off button turns it on but doesn’t turn it off. I have to unplug it which I would be doing anyway. But I just can’t figure out how to get the OFF part to work. Also you do have to open then close the filter section once on to get it to start grinding. So far though this has to be my favorite coffee maker. Not to find the best gentle on my stomach bean. Any suggestions ?? ... show more

  • THREE BIG issues THREE BIG issues
I've heard complaints about too much steam. I don't see this as a problem in any way. Maybe that's due to where I have mine placed. It's not under a cabinet. And another complaint is about having to clean the basket after every brew. Prior to buying this coffee machine I was using stainless steel k-cups (with a paper filter) so I was already used to cleaning out my k-cups after each use. I bought paper filters to use with this machine. You don't put the paper filter in the mesh filter. Anyway, all I have to do is throw out the paper filter. Then I leave the coffee drawer open so it drys or I take it completely out, rinse it and set to dry. Super easy! It's healthier to use a paper filter with coffee because unfiltered coffee can raise cholesterol levels. If you do have multiple people in your house waiting to make coffee, it's not as convenient as k-Cups are. I like how it looks although it's big. I love the sound of the beeps! The water tank is small and needs to be refilled often, but the way the lid opens, makes it easy to refill without taking it off the machine. I like that. It does make good tasting hot coffee (mostly because of my personal tweaking) and brewed cacao. Wonderful that it's a bur grinder! My issue is, I wish I could adjust the grind. It's permanently set on a medium grind (although when I asked, Amazon's answer was that the grind was adjustable) but it's not and I like a little finer of a bean grind. That's what gives coffee a stronger taste. The coffee isn't strong enough for me. Especially if making a larger cup, so I grind my own beans to add more coffee in the basket before I let this coffee maker grind the beans for the particular cup size I chose. So l'm adding more coffee and then I get a good tasting cup to my liking. I like that this has a larger basket to make custom brews (a 4 cup flat bottom fluted paper filter fits this basket so, it will hold a good amount. I've even used a 5 cup filter (had to push it down good.) For instance, some times I like to mix some cacao with my coffee so with this larger basket, I'm able to do that. Also, I/we don't drink very large cups of coffee in my house. So I can make a large cup of coffee and split it with 2 people. Instead of having to wait for the basket to get cleaned out for a second cup. This would be the absolute perfect coffee maker if I could adjust my grind. Especially if you're brewing a large cup. For me this doesn't grind enough coffee especially since it's permanently set on a very coarse grind. Side note: I like to use coffee grounds every once in a while to scrub/exfoliate my hands. Well, with the size of these grinds, you can't do it and it makes trying painful! It's like exfoliating with gravel. Another thing, it's very upsetting that I can't put my 8 inch travel mug under the drip. In order to fill a travel mug, I would have to let the coffee drip into something like my 2cup measuring cup or a short pitcher for pouring purposes and then pour it into my travel cup. Awful! I'm actually really tempted to return this. What's the purpose of having such a big machine that holds beans when I don't even use the grinder half the time. I'm still grinding my own beans to my liking and I can't use my travel mug. Cuisinart, if you make this with an adjustable burr grinder this coffee maker would be the absolute best. I'd be the first to buy it! One other thing, it would be nice if it came with a couple baskets ( the whole removable part, not just the mesh filter for those who use paper filters). This would help multi family users. EDIT: I want to add that the water tank is super narrow with some areas more narrow than others and this makes it hard to scrub clean. UGH!!!!!! ... show more

  • Great Value!
Easy to use, great coffee! It's the only one I could find that grinds and drips coffee that you can fill with beans and water and not have to do one cup at a time! Great value!

  • Good Coffee Maker and worth it, but needs refining.
This is a good coffee maker and I decided to give it 5 stars, although if I could I would have given it 4.5. The coffee maker looks great and easily fits under my standard cabinets. Seeing as this does have a built in grinder, it does make noise, but it could be worse. But this is something to keep in mind if you are going to make coffee while others in the house are asleep. To me, the coffee tastes great. I read other reviews about weak coffee, but mine tastes perfect just on the medium setting, although I have good beans. My only complaints are the time it takes to make a cup, it's not as fast as a Keurig, it's not horribly slow, but it is slower than Keurigs I've used in the past. My biggest complaint is that the unit makes a lot of steam, I mean a lot. So I have to pull the coffee maker out in front of my cabinets as I don't want that steam to collect under my cabinets and possibly damage them. I'm lucky I live in a dry climate and I usually only make a single cup each day. So it's not a big deal, but it's a minor inconvenience. ... show more

  • Pay attention to the reviews
Should have paid attention to the other reviews I read. I took a chance because I have had other Cuisinart appliances. This machine would not even dispense water in the initial flush process. I followed the instructions exactly. I tried and retried for about 20 minutes. Nothing. I called Cuisinart customer service. A rep tried to help for another 25 minutes trying numerous troubleshooting steps. Still nothing. She said she would send me a new machine once they received my return. I did not take another chance on another machine. I returned this coffee machine to Amazon. My first experience and the reviews were enough for me. I bought a completely different brand and love it. ... show more

  • Fantastic coffee maker! Fantastic coffee maker!
I wish I had ordered this sooner. I had an older Cuisinart that had a grinder built in but this one is fabulous! Fantastic cup of coffee, neater, and I waste less since o drink by the cup! It measures beans based on how you like it and water, depending on cup size. Hightly recommend!
