After many years of use, my knife set had to be replaced. The set I bought is made by Cuisinart. The knives have a great weight to them and are nice and sharp. The knife holder sits on my counter and makes it easy to get a knife while being very attractive. I am pleased with my purchase.

    • Great Knives for low price point!
These knives came packaged safely and in great condition. They were sharp and are so far great addition to the kitchen. We have been putting them in the dishwasher and so far have no had any trouble with doing so. Have already recommended to friends who love as well. Can't beat the cost.

This is a good daily use knife set for home cooks. But there are 2 minor caveats... Pros: LOW price, VERY reasonable Not sure what steel is used, but has some weight to it, and very little flex VERY sharp out of the box, came with tip protectors and paper sleeves Comfortable handles, usable with various griping styles Blades are nicely ground and polished, thin near the edge, not a mirror finish but very smooth Handle side of blade is slightly rounded at the rear and won't bite into finger Chef's knife has a classic profile, is fairly well balanced, a bit back heavy, so good for a rocking cut motion Chef's knife has a slight taper toward the middle, which becomes a bit more pronounced near the tip Cons: The spine on all the knives is not rounded. So if you use a pinch grip or fingertip grip the edges will bite into your finger a bit over time. I will fix this myself. Some light sanding with 800/1000/2000/5000 grit sandpaper will do the trick. This is the only thing missing that would otherwise have made this a GREAT starter knife set. In spite of this one missing feature, this set is good overall. Flaw: The Chef's knife was BENT, noticeably. (* see picture) I am not certain if this was a manufacturing defect or if it was damaged in shipping. The box was fairly heavy and the knife set box was bulging a bit with indentations in the cardboard from something pressing on it. I am sure Cuisinart will replace it without issue. ... show more

I’ve been averaging a knife set a year and they always rest even when they say they don’t. This is the first certain that I have bought that honestly does not rust. The knives are strong and durable while it’s not the highest end knife sit on the market It works well and I’m happy with the purchase. If you’re used to buying $40 and $50knife sets with lackluster results spend a little bit more and get this one when it goes down on sale. ... show more

This knife set has surpassed most of my expectations. This knife set is however, not 100% dishwasher durable. While the blades will not dull due to ... water ... the handles fade after one washing. I cannot give it 5 stars because of this. * Still, it's a great looking set, and if I were to replace this one down the road I will get another Cuisinart knife set. * Technology on this planet is fantastic. And yet a company (any company really) can't come up with blade handles that can resist dishwasher detergent? Really disappointing on that front. ... show more
