First of all I'm a 12" sub kinda guy. That's all I've ever owned until now. I was skeptical but I didn't wanna do a huge build in my truck because I need to keep my trunk open. I ordered one of the strato 8s and built a generic box just to test it out. After breaking it in, this thing slams without taking up a ton of space. I like it so much I ordered a another strato 8 and I'm going to build a sealed enclosure where the factory box was. Well, this is a well built sub , but my main complaint is the fact that it is 300 watt rms, instead of the advertised 450rms. Thats a big deal when your deciding on which amp to use on it. If im pushing 1200rms on 3 of these and now i find out that these can only handle 900 for 3 then i could end up damaging the woofers. **edited\* These little subs are very powerful and even though its labeled incorrectly, as far as rms, its still a very good woofer ... show more

Had gotten this for my son’s truck after wanting to try something stronger than his old nemesis 8” sub. It definitely hit a lot harder but did not last very long until this ct sounds sub started to smell like burnt and started rattling.
