  • Great for everyday use
I bought this for a 93 yr old in Assisted Living. He uses it to go to meals in his cafeteria. I bought a cushion to place on the seat. It is a good wheelchair. He had to get used to the straps at his heels and complained about them at first, but then got used to them. It wheels easily.

  • Just what we needed
My wife needs a wheel chair when we are in places like museums and shopping, since she cannot walk very far, even with her walker. This really meets the need. This wheelchair is made of sturdy materials, so it is a full 36 pounds. However, the foot rests are easily removed, which makes it a lot easier to put into the back of the car. You could also take off the armrests, which would also reduce the weight a couple more pounds. However, unlike the footrests, the arms don't get in the way when you are lifting the chair. The armrests come off easily, so she can maneuver the chair herself, but it is really made for another person to push. When folding the chair, you just pull up on a couple of fabric straps and it folds up ready to store. It helps to lock the brakes first, so it is easier to pick it up without the wheels turning and interfering. Then the chair can be easily carried by the straps. It is a little more complicated to open, but the more I have done it, the easier it gets. Also, we have found that it is easier to put on the footrests after she has gotten into the chair. There is not a good latch for holding up the footplates, so sometimes they fall back into place before you are ready for them. The footrests and armrests are easily adjustable. Also, just the armrest can be removed, or the whole armrest and attached side panel can be removed. This has been comfortable for my wife for a couple of hours. It helps that she is able to get up and move to another chair and move around. Otherwise, she would probably like a cushion to make it more comfortable. Now we can relax in a museum or shopping, discuss what is happening, move at a pace that we both like, and not have to worry about my wife falling. Overall, this has been a really great addition to our accessibility arsenal. ... show more

  • Cheap but not sturdy.
I've had four of these chairs in the last seven years. Not as sturdy as it should be but cheap. I tore the metal pipe holding the front wheel. Twice. On two chairs. Just tore the wheel off. The seat expands to be 18 inches deep but is only held by Velcro, which doesn't hold. I added some belting at the front edge. The sides fold back but is held by a button that is hard to push. ... show more

  • Indestructible, comfortable, a tremendous value.
Indestructible. Miles of Va parking lots did no harm to it.

  • A servicable wheelchair.
Strong. Good materials. A good price. The same brand that my hospital uses. It came fully assembled and was easy to use. My only complaint is that the wheels did not turn so easily and have to be oiled. It can be a little hard to push. And the plastic wheels don't get quite as much traction as rubber wheels might. I have had the chair for a couple months, and it seems to be holding up well, but to be honest, I don't use it every day, only when the walking distances are too far for me to use a walker or a cane. ... show more

  • Nice Wheelchair
Bought this for my father who is 95. He really likes the extra width although he is not large at all. He also very much likes the arms that can be raised at the dinner table. This feature gets him much closer to the table than he did in his previous wheelchair. Seems to be built very well!
