The bars are good inexpensive purchase. Ease of installation is a guesstimate based on how well you know to put A and B together since the installation instructions are cryptic and does not reflect how to use what’s in the package. There is no label on the bars which one goes to the front and which one goes to the rear. I guess it’s the same length/angle for both? The plastic cover pops out and I had to use a strong glue within to keep it from popping out. Overall if you’re a handyman that’s saving a few hundred from buying a genuine product, this is a good purchase. The actual bars are aluminum and when screwed to the roof feels sturdy. ... show more

Terrible installation instructions. Concerned about sturdiness - need a roof rack to transport kayaks. Waiting for Yakima to come out with a rack to fit my 2021 Toyota Highlander with flush racks (later this year). Will replace at that time.

VERY VAGUE INSTRUCTIONS ON INSTALLATION. BE CAREFUL WHEN ATTACHING THE THRU BOLT FROM THE MAIN ROOF SUPPORTS TO THE CROSS BARS. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE BOLT AS IT WILL PULL OUT OF THE RUBBER GROMMET FROM THE CROSS BARS. I HAD A GAP BETWEEN ONE CROSS BAR AND MAIN ROOF SUPPORT AND I THOUGHT THAT THEY NEEDED TO BE TIGHT AGAINST EACH OTHER.
