Description

The Anthology Record Player is just an excerpt from Crosley's impressive collection of record players. Crosley took their most popular suitcase turntable, The Cruiser, and gave it a bigger footprint with larger built-in speakers and upgraded components for a better vinyl listening experience. This three speed turntable plays 33 1/3, 45 and 78 RPM vinyl records and includes a built-in 45 adapter to easily transition from small hole LP albums to large- hole singles/45s. To help improve sound quality, the tonearm is equipped with a moving magnet cartridge, AT-3600 stylus and functional counterweight. Other features include pitch adjustment knob, RCA output so you can hook up to external speakers and a Bluetooth receiver so you can stream your digital music on your phone through the Anthology's speakers. When it comes to portable turntables, the Anthology may be Crosley's best piece of work yet. (Compatible with NP5 replacement needle)

I was under the impression this was a new record player bc it arrived in the original packaging and nothing on the listing states it’s used or refurbished. One of the legs are short, scuffs everywhere. If I’m buying a used product that needs to be stated in the listing.

I’m not a huge record player snob. I had the same crosley for 10 years and it finally crapped out on me so I bought this one. I like the new features such as the pitch and tone controls. You can also connect your phone to it and use it as a Bluetooth speaker but that kind of defeats the purpose of a record player so I don’t use it. The sound quality is much better than my 10 year old crosley however I can’t speak on how it is compared to other brands or styles. Overall, I love it. ... show more

I cannot comment on the sound, quality, or Bluetooth connectivity. I ordered it for my 10 year old granddaughter and had it delivered to my house so I could see the quality. I was very pleased. It looked well made and the color was great. I wasn’t sure she would even know what a record player was but she definitely did know and according to my son and daughter in law she hasn’t stopped listening to her albums I bought. I’ve had and heard other portable units. Been very satisfied with this. The built in speakers are the best I’ve heard from Crosley or Victrola; they still don’t compare to a good set of powered speakers and if you want this as a primary unit for your home, maybe invest in a pair of those (or buy a stationary higher end unit). But to fill a small room, or use as a portable unit, this is great. I wish there was push lock or something to secure the unit when moving it around, but I’ve loaded this up with the single clasp multiple times for trips and it’s never opened on me. Of course the platter and most pieces are plastic, and the platter wobbles and I thought that was going to be a problem, but the weighted tone arm keeps the needle right in place and it doesn’t skip or seem to put too much pressure on the vinyl and all of the parts seem flush with one another. If you’re looking for a portable unit to take on vacations or to use on a desk in small room, I don’t think you could do better. I haven’t used the Bluetooth feature, so I can’t say if it likes to disconnect or not or even what version it is. ... show more

    • Decent Record Player for Playing "old" 45RPM's

I wanted a record player that could handle my collection of 45RPM's - many of which date back to the 50's & 60's. I wouldn't trust playing these on my hi-end Turntable, as they would probably "kill" the needle due to scratches and scrapes. I reserve my good TT for LP's but wanted to use something that sounded somewhat decent for the 45's. I do have a vintage RCA Victor Bakelite record player that I use but it is beginning to slow down, so this Crosley is a nice replacement. Sound isn't the best but then neither was the RCA from the 40's so that's fine by me. Older 45's never really sounded that great to begin with so this Crosley works just fine. I haven't connected it to external speakers, which I'm sure will help. The plus is I am a Beatles fan, owning both domestic and import LP's as well as quite a few 45's. So this is a nice addition to my collection. I've had a few Crosley products over the years, and have never had issues with their construction nor their Customer Service if something was needed. ... show more

Bought this for my teen daughter and it works just fine. She's not overly concerned about sound quality, which is fine I guess, but don't expect to be blown away. For the price, it's a good buy
