So I read all the reviews of the various sellers who had these units on Amazon. My husband is very happy with this. I had a TON of records he wanted to play plus some cassettes that we'd hoped were still playable. Everything worked fine. The sound is minimal so we hooked it up to external speakers.     • Nostalgic. Nice. Average Quality.
I have wanted a Crosley turntable for years and finally decided upon this one after doing some research. It is very attractive and nostalgic looking. The sound is nice and clear. I enjoy having the bluetooth option so I can listen to even more music. The negatives for me are that there is no way to adjust the sounds on stereo, except for the basic volume up and down, but no adjustments for bass or treble preferences. Also, the highest volume level is just okay. I can still easily hear and talk to others without having to yell over it. That would be fine if I wanted to listen to it at a lower level, it's just that this is the maximum level. It would also be nice to have a way to plug in external speakers to increase the sound quality and volume. Additionally, the cassette function only allows for fast-forwarding which is very frustrating to not have the option to rewind as well. For being a Crosley product, I would have expected a little more features to have been put into this. Overall, I am satisfied with this Crosley turntable for a small bedroom stereo, but would not recommend as the only stereo that one might purchase. ... show more

    • Good value for the cost. Needs a better needle
I bought this for my home office because I want to listen to records while I work. I received the machine and the record player did not keep a constant RPM, so I returned it. I only mention this in case it happens to someone else. I sent it back and quickly got a replacement. I am very happy and here are some of my thoughts. SPEAKERS: They are not great, but have quality sound for the price paid. It would have been nice to be able to connect an external speaker, but I knew I couldn't when I bought it. TUNER: I live 35 miles from town, but with just the attached wire antenna I get great reception. TURNTABLE: This is why I bought the machine, but the needle that it comes with is the cheapest they could find, and the sound quality tells. If you buy this machine, do yourself a favor and buy diamond tip needle. I bought a 3-pack for $16 and the sound is much better. ... show more

Bought it as a replacement for a similar item, different brand, that my father in-law has had for a while. The Crosley CR42D-PA Lancaster's knobs and buttons are hard to read, it is a smaller unit, so when playing an LP it has to be inserted at an angle so that it sticks out an opening in the back. The CD player felt fragile. The unit did arrive well packaged, and with the exemption of the cassette player that we did not have one on had to test, everything worked. I just do not think it is as elderly friendly as the brand it is replacing. ... show more
