  • Excellent value for money and good backup service too! What's not to like? 5 Stars, No Wasted Time!
Style: 4G
Excellent images, easy to use, reliable. I purchased 4 cameras, all similar-looking but different brands, for use as home security in an emergency situation -- so it wasn't wildlife I was looking to capture with it, but a dodgy builder who had threatened to come to the house and break in. The CreativeXP PRO3 was one of the 4 cams I bought and, although at face value they all look similar, I found this particular one was more functional and user-friendly too. I managed to set this one up faster and it had more reliable results so that just showed me that I'd correctly interpreted the user guide -- whereas some others were very hit and miss - their online manual is in perfect English with photos and everything. The images are extremely clear, and the camera is easily triggered by the sensors. But it's not TOO easily triggered so certainly in my case, I did not get any shots endless messages on my phone that were leaves blowing around or similar; every shot was a useful one with either a vehicle, animal or person in it. One thing i did find amusing was finding out how many colorful but nosy birds live around my garden (no, i'm not talking about my neighbors). These little birds seemed to be fascinated by it and kept coming right up close - they were not scared at all. They managed to fill the whole frame quite a few times. The switch from day imagery to nighttime imagery is smooth and seamless, and I am impressed by the high quality of the night images, especially as where I live is pitch dark; we have no lighting whatsoever, so the camera relies solely on its own lighting from 56 IR led's (they are no glow). In terms of the settings I have used, I tend to prefer using it on pre-set intervals (between 10 pm and 6 am), so that there are no sensor lights to give the game away while I am using it for covert CCTV - was more than enough to capture several days' worth of stills to examine when I came home. I was very pleasantly surprised by several things. Firstly, I was pleased that despite the rain coming down very hard in my absence, the camera was as dry as a bone inside. It was not left in a sheltered place; there was a tree stump on its side and I hid the camera in some grass on the stump. Secondly, I was extremely happy to see that it had captured very clearly a prowler on my land (set it to 12 MP), and the images were certainly clear enough to identify the man and the vehicle if I came across him again - as the memory card I bought was a 32GB and it was barely used at all by these stills. This camera is rated at IP65, which is a very good protection rating (the IP rating measures how waterproof, dustproof, etc). It still works after pouring rain, so it's good for me. The amount of information the camera gives is also good, including the ambient temperature which is useful for me as I live in an area where it can get extremely cold, and for insurance purposes, if I happened to have a problem in my absence, providing proof of the weather conditions could be useful for an insurance claim. Setting up this camera was easier than setting up the 'similar' ones. Inevitably, they are all made overseas and so the English is a bit awkward in the instructions, but NOT on this one. It was written in perfect English by their technical team, I think. But this one performed exactly as I hoped, and I didn't have any issues with capturing footage, receiving all the MMS messages on my T-Mobile phone or stills when I had hoped to. Some of the others are still guesswork and I still have no idea how to get exactly what I want on two of the other devices. Conclusion: CreativeXP won my competition and I'm purchasing 2 more units this week for my summer barn. *My friend borrowed for his deer feeder and look what I received on my phone, it's a deer party. Just Amazing product and highly recommend it! ... show more

  • Night pic quality degrades over time. Not weatherproof. Good warranty.
Style: 4G
Had some issues setting up. Store owners did a good job of helping me out. Customer service is second to none. They know everything about these cameras. When something isn't going right, they know the solution. Pictures were good during daylight. See attached picture for reference. Pictures were average close up at night, they were below average past 15 feet at night. Grainy. I have set up on a hog trap, to see when to shut the cell activated gate. Worked ok for 2 months, then nothing. Found camera full of water from a very heavy overnight rain. See picture attached. Camera lense is full of water. It worked good enough to alert me that pigs were in trap. Just doesn't work well in heavy rains. Not worth the price for a little over 2 months of use. But the their warranty policy does replace bad cameras. If it worked for 2 years, I would be ok with that. Most non cellular trail cameras usually go bad around 2 years. Update: Seller replaced the camera that filled with rain water. Will be putting back on my hog trap in a couple of weeks to see if things change. Second Update: The new one arrived. I went to set it up, but something was different. The last one was complicated to set up, but customer service was second to none. Same as this time, called, they walked me through the set up. Being older and not very versed in electronic technology, it was best to call to get help on setting up. It seems that AT&T will no longer let cell cameras text pictures to AT&T phones. You have to go through an app, like Spypoint does. Unless you get an AT&T SIM card, which runs about $40/month. CreativeXP sent a SIM card with the camera that costs $110/year for unlimited pics. There are other cheaper plans. I took this one cause I use it year round, it just sends to a gmail account. Yahoo email didn't work with the type of picture it sent. If the pics were clearer and could see farther at night, and there was a phone app, this would be a 4 star cell camera. The only thing that could make this one better is if they used an app to make changes from phone, instead of having to drive hours to make changes to the camera settings at the camera itself. Other manufacturers use an app or camera software to do this, at the same price for the camera. Update again. Attached 2 night pictures. The lense fogs up in winter when the temps change at night. One pic is foggy, the other looks like the night flash is going out, night pics are getting harder to see over time. The attached night pic that is not foggy is of a hog in my trap, you can see it's eyes only. If you don't know it's there, you won't see it. The camera is set up about 10 ft. from the trap gate. It seems like over time, night picture quality suffers or the flash is going out. Day pictures are usually pretty good. I attached a day pic for reference. The last pic attached is on a clear night. I think this replacement camera is going out. This is an expensive camera for what you end up getting as far as picture quality at night. If you only want day time pics, this one works unless the weather is bad. Another Update: Talked with customer service again. They are replacing my second camera, it couldn't be repaired. So far, their customer service and life time warranty policy is working great. Last Update: When I purchased this camera, they advertised a lifetime warranty. They changed the warranty to 1 year as of this update. This camera was replaced twice under the first year of warranty, so camera #3 has filled with water AGAIN. This is advertised as a waterproof camera. Every time I had it out in a heavy rain, it goes out. It cannot take a heavy rain. For $300 I am replacing with a Covert brand, which advertises a 2 year warranty. The shipping time for me to send the old one and receive the new one puts the camera in shipping more than in the field. I am going to check out the Covert camera brand. I will never buy this Creative JUNK again!!! Dishonest people selling Chinese JUNK!!! ... show more
