We bought this COSTWAY 18k Dual Zone Mini Split for our houseboat, because floating on water should feel relaxing… not like surviving the Arctic or a sauna. This system absolutely delivers. My boyfriend installed the entire setup himself. I’d like to note that the amount of cursing was surprisingly low, which tells me the instructions were decent and the parts actually made sense. That alone deserves applause. We’ve used both the AC and the heat, and they are both fantastic. The AC gets ice cold (like “do I need a hoodie?” cold), and the heat is cozy enough to forget you’re literally on a boat. Both zones work quickly, evenly, and quietly...no rattling, no drama. The remotes work great, are easy to use, and respond instantly. My only complaint: everything is in Celsius and apparently I now live in Europe. You can’t change it to Fahrenheit, so be prepared to do some light mental math or just press buttons until it “feels right.” Overall, this unit works incredibly well, looks clean, runs quietly, and has completely upgraded our houseboat life. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. If your partner is installing it... bring snacks and moral support. Highly recommend! Photo note: I wanted to include pictures of the actual mini split unit, but unfortunately I don’t have any on hand yet (houseboat logistics 😅). I did include a photo of the remote, mostly because I was desperately trying to figure out how to switch it from Celsius to Fahrenheit (spoiler: you can’t). The unit itself looks exactly like what’s advertised. Next time I’m out there, I’ll grab some photos of the installed system and update this review. ... show more

It has been taking 3 months and 3 HVAC people to install this unit. Due to the recent change in coolant, nothing seemed to work. There seemed to be a leak, but then it turned out there was not enough coolant to begin with. Customer service was non-existent. HVAC guy was put on hold for one and one half hour, after which Costway hung up on him. Other attempts to contact them were fruitless. The fact that the Celsius degrees cannot be changed to Fahrenheit seems not user friendly. ... show more

Technician Installed the unit and it only turned when it was placed in Auto mode and read Error code E5 after a while. Contacted seller and they sent - what was supposed to be the main board for the outdoor unit. They instead sent 2 indoor controllers for the double heads inside, upon inspection, this was not the right part and it didn't fit my current unit anyway. Contacted seller again and they sent the actual part needed. This took about 2 weeks by the time I received the part. This made 3 times the Technician had to come to my home. Once was for nothing with the wrong parts. Obviously this is not a free service. Customer service was good but the issue with a brand new unit was frustrating. Seems to be working fine now. I also read - after the fact of course- they had multiple issues with the E5 codes that were reported. They did offer a $100.00 credit on the original payment for the issues but of course, HVAC guys cost more than $100.00 so I am still out money but had no choice at this point but to accept something. ... show more

2 zones but both zones must be on to work. If you want to cool or heat just one room both have to be on. Als a Metric set, temp in Celsius not switchable to Fahrenheit. That I can tolerate. Having both on to heat or cool is a real pain. 1 star. This is the 3rd unit I have purchased.
