Description

Assorted Foliage Live Plants features assorted, green foliage. These live houseplants are great for small spaces. They does well in spaces that have bright, indirect sunlight. Place Assorted Foliage in a spot that receives bright light. Water your plant about once a week with approximately 1/2 cup and be sure all excess water drains away. Adjust as needed for your environment. Do not let the Assorted Foliage sit in water or overly soggy soil. The height at delivery is approximately 8-inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. The set arrives in black, 4-inch nursery plant pots. To help with water drainage, this container does have holes. These plants are moderate growers. Exact growth rate depends on the care provided and its environment. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for potted plants. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for the best use. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot, gently remove current container and place into a slightly larger container. Fill any empty spaces with new and fresh soil and water thoroughly. This plant is considered hardy in USDA Zone 9-11.Be aware of third-party sellers; other companies try to imitate our quality. I ordered these plants because when I was in the interior landscaping business, Costa Farms was known as an excellent grower of interior plants, and I used many of their products. When these small plants arrived, one had several brown leaves. However, I dropped it when I took it out of the box, so I didn't want to complain, not being able to identify how much damage was already there and how much damage I did by dropping. Of course, the brown leaves were there, but my drop could have caused unseen damage. I removed the bad leaves and watered the plant and expected it to revive and do well. Another plant was totally wilted. But I watered it well, and it seemed to revive and looked good. The third plant was fine. I cared for the plants carefully, and I was one of the first 50 certified interior horticulturists in the nation, so I know how to care for indoor plants. Unfortunately, in spite of my best efforts, the two damaged plants died. I looked at the product description and saw a number for Costa Farms for a guarantee. I called that number, and the man I spoke with said Amazon was responsible for the guarantee. I explained that the Amazon website said Costa Farms was responsible and provided this number to call. He said that wasn't right and gave me a number to call at Amazon. The man who answered said Costa Farms was responsible for the guarantee and gave me a number to call. I told him I had already called that number and the person answering gave me the number I was speaking to him on. He assured me that Costa Farms was responsible, and he would remind them of that. He told me he sent a message to Costa Farms reminding them about their guarantee and promised me someone from Costa would contact me to offer replacements for the two plants that died. I waited for several weeks before writing a review to give Costa Farms time to respond. Unfortunately, they never did. This was very disappointing to me, as the good opinion I had of the nursery from my years as an interior landscaper was tarnished by this. I don't know whether their quality has deteriorated in the 25+ years since I dealt with them, whether they are better with the large plants we used in interior landscaping than the small plants in this order, or whether this was just a confusing glitch. These arrived in great shape. I removed them from the black plastic inner pot. I added some potting soil and re-potted them in the white pots they came with. It was easy and didn't require much time or effort. Note: The white pots are not ceramic but aren't bad for plastic "ceramic look" pots. I wish we could choose the plants by the light level each plant requires. One requires low light. One is bright to medium light. One is bright light. This however; was not a deal breaker for me but, just something to consider when purchasing the three pack of these plants. I did order a specific taller plant from the same company (a money tree) from a local super big chain, you know the one where everyone wears pj's to shop. (It starts with a W and ends with allmart.) I have included a photo of that plant also because it is from the same company and is sold on here, too. I also repotted it in a ceramic pot I purchased from there. The size of these plants are great for what I was looking for. I am very pleased with these plants. They are some of the nicer and healthier plants I have ordered. I expect them to grow and thrive. On arrival, all plants looked healthy and pretty. The Fittonia plant has very pretty stripe pattern on the leaves, but has a very strong smell that I do not like. The smell does not bother my father. The Fittonia is very sensitive to under watering, and was withered and looked almost dead, lost many leaves but recovered well after watering it again (plant on far right in photo). The Bash on Fire Croton is even more sensitive! The Croton is sensitive to both under watering and over watering. In the photos, it’s the first one on the left, and the current problem was over watering, and even though the soil has dried out a bit and has good drainage now, it is so withered that I do not know if it will survive. The other two plants are very hardy and survived both under watering and overwatering watering. Plus, the tall plant came with 2 bulbs (3rd from the left in the first photo). The pots the plants arrived in were very small. As seen in the photo, I have repotted them. The pots seen in my photos did not come with the plants, nor did all that soil. Overall, I am happy with the purchase, and if the Croton dies, I will repot one of the tall plant bulbs in its pot. The two plants seen in the middle of the first photo, are very hardy; both survived both over watering and under watering.
