I love these chairs! I ordered 3 for my counter-height breakfast bar and they are perfect! The seat screws on to the bottom with 4 screws and thats that for assembly. The bottom is one solid piece. Comes delivered with the seat nestled into the bottom frame and secured with cardboard and zipties. For aesthetic purposes I also ordered 16" faux fur round cushions to place on them and they are just the cutest pair!! The chair is comfy on its own but the cushion gives your bum a bit of buffer. I have cheaper-ish plank flooring and we could see the chairs were scratching the finish on them after a few months, so I would suggest putting felt on the feet or putting down a runner or clear mat under them to protect your floors. Nerd note- roomba will go right over the bottom metal poles, which is great to me because it vacuums under the chairs without needing to move them or put them up. ... show more

We purchased these stools for our kitchen island. We wanted stools with a low back, so we could tuck under the counter. We also have small kids so needed them to be sturdy and low maintenance (sticky weetabix easy to clean type stuff :-) ). These stools are perfect, no wobbling or worry about them tipping over. The lip at the back seems to support kids quiet well too (mind you, am always close-by during toddler dances). I was worried they would look cheap, but they actually look pretty cool... when I first received them I was going to get cushions, but tricky to get dimensions right. We've been using them without cushions, and they are pretty comfy... bit better with long pants rather than shorts kinda comfy though. ... show more

The iron ring digs into the back of the leg under most conditions. The stool seems steady without rock or wobble. And, there is a little back support as the back of the seat curves upward. The height is correct under my bar. With out any doubt you will need padding over the iron grill of a seat. It looks modern and trendy. But!!! nobody is going to sit on the metel very long and feel like staying. ... show more
