The things I like about this are that it is very lightweight and folds easily for storage in utility closet. The thing I don't like is that the steps are very shallow so it's not comfortable to stand on and makes me feel slightly unstable. They're not really steps, more like ladder rungs. It's okay for reaching for something on a high shelf, but wouldn't work for me if I were standing on it for any length of time as to paint or hang decorations or lights. If you're just short like me and need it to occasionally reach upper shelves, it's fine.

I was really excited to receive this as I also own a cosco 2 step stool for several years and it has been amazing and held up well. But upon unboxing this step ladder I noticed that the welds on a support bar litteraly melted away the joint. Not only is this disappointing but extremely surprised that something like this would get past any kind of quality control. This a huge safety hazard and gives me a concern with any cosco product now.

it's sufficiently sturdy and light enough for me to carry up/down 3 flights of stairs. product description was slightly off regarding folded width. the 2 bottom rungs jutted out wider than the aluminum frames. so, turns out the width or thickness of the folded step stool is more like 3-1/8". i couldn't fit it in the space between by refrigerator and wall as intended. found an alternate way to store it though by hanging it over my ironing board that hangs behind my laundry room door.

I was hugely disappointed by this product. Unboxing it was a breeze; carrying it was easy; setting it up a flick of the wrist followed by an automatic lock in. I was very happy up until this point -- until I tried to stand on the first "step", and found I was perched on the narrow rung of a ladder -- the kind I was scared to mount; much less to stand on. All I felt able to do on this level was hang on while the rung cut painfully into the arch of my feet. Unfortunately, the first level is the one I need the most. At nine inches off the ground, it gives me enough extra height to do most of what I need. But the hard, narrow rung made it impossible for me to do anything at all; it was that uncomfortable! At that point I decided the first rung must have been meant to function like a rung on an extension ladder -- to help the climber get to the next step. But using it that way meant that the first "non-step" was only an assistive device, not usable on its own. After mounting the second step, which was wide enough to stand on, the support bars on each side stopped. Standing nineteen inches in the air with nothing to hold onto I felt VERY insecure. There was no way I felt comfortable about reaching for top shelf items, much less carrying things with me going up or down. Right now I am really pissed off because I LIKED everything about this ladder except for the fact that I couldn't use it!!! Rotten design for those of us who need normal steps that are wide enough to stand on comfortably. It's going back IMMEDIATELY! I feel misled by the manufacturer/vendor as to the nature and use of this item. What a total waste of my time! At least I can return it, so I'm not wasting my money as well. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

I'm afraid of heights. Even just a few feet in the air, I get nervous. But I'm also short, and I often need to reach the high shelves in our kitchen. For years I've struggled with a stool that has no place for me to hold on to, but when that broke, I decided to look into something a bit easier to get up and down from. This looks heavy, but you can lift it with a finger or two. Easy to open, very easy to close, and it stands straight and doesn't need to lean against a wall. Perfect, really. I'm fearless now!

We bought a Little Giant some time ago, and loved it. Thinking that would be the ladder to end all ladders. But the Little giant is somewhat heavy, and so we looked at this Cosco ladder, first attracted to it by the top handle. Turns out that that handle is very useful for safety and convenience. It is light and we can use it to reach all the cabinets in our kitchen. We bought one for our daughter-in-law who complained that their ladder is heavy, and confined to the garage, and dusty. So now she, like us, keeps the Cosco ladder inside our 2-storey houses. And the Little Giant? It is like a retired 4-star general, to be recalled for Special Ops whenever needed.

Best step ladder out there!! I'm 5'1" & I can reach the smoke detectors with this to change batteries etc!! It is VERY light weight and easy to carry around with you, whether you're projecting, doing windows, changing light bulbs, all that fun stuff!! It's my new best friend when my 6'1" husband isn't around to do that sort of stuff!! MUCH better than our old wooden triangle ladder & easier to access!! It stays in my kitchen between the wall & trash can!! About 3"-4" of space max is all you need to slide this in & store it!

I love having such a light-to-carry, but sturdy, ladder! I can now easily, and SAFELY, wash high windows, clean the top of my bookcase, bring down the large china platter from the highest shelf that's needed for the holiday party with our extended family and grab the right tent and camping gear from high shelves in the storage room. I used to get a bit too creative to do these things. I really appreciate the design - where you can be positive is securely locked in place. The stairs are rather narrow (but strong), but I imagine they decided on this design aspect to keep the weight down on this ladder. They have many other ladders to choose from it this doesn't suit you...but for me, it was a good trade off. I really appreciate the lightness of the ladder!
