Buying these in cotton has a few problems, the shrink and wear in a few years. Nylon does not shrink and Nylon is a very strong material. Since I don't go to many dress up functions and perfer the outdoors; Cargo pants have a lot of pluses. These pants are made for the outdoor but are now nice enough to be worn in most places. Very comfortable and fit perfectly. I have used nylon even in Motorcycle Jacket and works perfectly for my needs. ... show more

So many of the comments are accurate: The pants seem of very good quality. The fit was very good. The bottom of the legs ARE pretty wide. I imagine the idea is to cover winter or snow boots easily. I bought these for my husband. He wears a 34"x30" and they fit perfectly. He loves the way they feel, (lightweight but not too thin), the way the fabric stretches, and how weather-resistant they are. As a bonus, the look is nice enough to dress up for church or dinner out as well as wearing casual.

The issues mainly come from the sizing and off fit (bagginess). They are tighter in the waist/hip and very baggy all the way down to the feet/ankle (potentially even flaring?). I am no longer as skinny as I was when younger and I know that contributes to a tighter waist, but they just don't fit like plenty of other pants I have do at that size. I bought these to use them outdoors and for yardwork and they function alright for that purpose, but the fit/extreme bagginess has just left a lot to be desired. ... show more
