Nice and great quality for the price. I used these corsets for a hair show for thing 1 and 2. None of the brackets came off or anything so I was impressed. It was easy to move in as well. I did iron on patches as well and it took it well. So no complaints.

My current measurements are 38-31-41. I ordered the XL corset, which says it's for 30-31 inch waist. It turns out, that's the minimum circumference of the corset when the back edges are fully touching, laced as tight as it goes. Meaning you can't go any *smaller* than that measurement. However, I also own a very similar corset in small (from back in the days when I was smaller and it fit properly), and even that doesn't reduce my waist at all. With several inches between the panels in the back and laced as tightly as I'm willing to wear, I'm still at about 30.5 inches in the small corset too. So either that means I'm not the type of person who is going to get a waist reduction out of corsets, or this style of corset just isn't good at waist reduction. In any case, take the minimum circumference into account *in addition* to whether or not you're wearing this as an undergarment or an overgarment. If you're wearing it over several layers of clothing, you need to take the width of that extra clothing into account. And then also take into account how much space you want between the back edges, under the laces. I'm using this as a structured undergarment rather than a fashion overgarment. I'm wearing a light camisole under the corset to protect my skin from it and vice versa, and then the corset, and then the rest of my outfit on top of the corset. The structure it provides gives a nice clean line to my silhouette, and it protects my waist from the elastic in the skirts and shirt, so it's performing exactly the function it did throughout history. Given that the XL is exactly my size when laced as tightly as it goes, it's perfectly comfortable. In fact, the outfit is more comfortable with the corset than without it. Yes, the corset is restrictive. I breathe a little differently and can't bend fully at the waist. I don't find it any more *uncomfortable* than a properly-fitting bra. Please don't assume that corsets are supposed to hurt! If your corset is making you uncomfortable or putting you in pain, don't wear it. It's the wrong size or shape for you. Unless you're doing it on purpose to sacrifice for your art, in the same vein as wearing stiletto heels or whatever. :) If you're looking for significant waist reduction, you may want to consider a proper Victorian corset made for the task, preferably by hand and for your specific measurements. Barring that, this is an affordable option that's attractive, relatively well-built, and true to the size given in the chart in their product photos. ... show more

I don't think I can buy online for lingerie. I was hoping to wear this under a pantsuit for a wedding because the shoulders and back were lace. It didn't fit at the bust at all. I think I bought the recommended size. But, I probably need to go in and try things on. The material was beautiful. It just didn't fit. I'm returning it as I can't wear it even as a top by itself since it's that big. It also hangs pretty low on the bottom and my midsection isn't long enough. Probably not a petite size. Bought this item for a school dance for my kiddo. The material and overall quality were really impressive for the price. I love that it is fully adjustable by using the back laces. It may take help from another person to get it tight enough though, once you have it on. But, this is very common for a corset anyway. Ok, I will admit that I didn't realize how much I needed steel boning...until this corset. This was a horrible idea. I'm a 38H, top heavy is putting it mildly. There was absolutely no support and I didn't realize this until I was sitting in my car to the event. I had to hold my chest the whole night, and I'm not exaggerating. By the time I got home, it took 20 mins to get out of it because the steel closure in the front bent horribly due to the weight of my chest. It looks like I folded it in half. The only way I'd ever wear this again, is if it was over a top and I could wear a regular bra under the shirt. This may work for some who doesn't have dense heavy breasts. Product was actually nicer than I expected. Shipping was not bad for china post. I ordered October 14, 2016, estimated to come in November 9th - 29th, 2016. Arrived November 5th, 2016. I have purchased different corsets from different businesses on Amazon and I love all of mine, but this one actually curved for the bust which was nice... and not something you usually see (specifically with the purple corset). One thing that most people don't understand about corsets, is that they will ALWAYS seem to small. You have to "open" the back more when initially putting it on. Get the threads/strings looser in the back, all the way if you like. Or whenever you can attach the front, THEN sinch the back up and tie it. Do not just open up the package, and try to make it fit without loosening the back. Its like lace up shoes, you don't since up the laces before you put on the shoes or it won't fit. I also have corsets made with steel boning and the lacing process is more detailed with those, but for these plastic ones it's pretty simple. I definitely don't try to go as tight, but I don't mind that. I bought my corset according to the sizing chart of when I was ordering, I always go by my waist. I have done this on multiple different corsets, from different businesses, with reviews that say larger or smaller. But honestly.. EVERY TIME it's because people just don't understand how to put on a corset. I've never had the sizing be wrong. So I'd say to go with your actual sizing.
