  • Highest quality PSU, yet again
Style: RMx Shift (ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0) Size: 1200W
Corsair delivers again! This is the third time I've used a Corsair power unit for a self/custom build, and with EVGA gone, I will never stray from them again! I can't speak to their peripherals, but the power units are incredibly high quality, have decent tech support, and come with connectors that just about every enthusiast/custom builder would ever need. The cables can bit a little bit stiff, but they do sell (for a premium price) softer and more flexible cables on their site. I wish these custom cables were a little bit cheaper, but it does speak to how modular and high quality their PSUs are. ... show more

  • Glad I chose this one
Style: RMx Shift (ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0) Size: 1000W
Runs my RTX 5080 and my i9 14900k seamlessless with lights and other accessories perfectly. This thing is a monster. She fits perfectly, actually better than I had expected when doing a measurement check before I ordered. It is quiet and I had to actually shine my light on it to be sure it was actually running ideally. Connections were perfect and sturdy. ... show more

  • Couldn't be happier; what a design!
Style: RMx Shift (ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0) Size: 1200W
I’ve always hated how traditional PSU cables connect — reaching around the back, cramming fingers into tight spaces. That’s why I was excited about the Corsair Shift 1200X’s side-access design, and I’m happy to report: in real-world use, it’s even more convenient than I expected. ✅ Ease of installation: The side-mounted connectors make cable management a breeze, especially in larger cases where you have the rear panel clearance. For newer PC builders, this layout is much easier to work with compared to standard designs. ⚠️ Important tip: Before you buy, check your case dimensions carefully. If you’re building in a micro-ATX or ITX case, measure twice — this PSU’s side-access layout requires extra clearance on the rear side panel that small cases may not have. ✅ Noise & cooling: I can barely hear this PSU even under load, so I assume it’s cooling efficiently. No noticeable coil whine or fan ramping in my system. ✅ Cabling quality: I was pleasantly surprised by the included Corsair Type 5 cables — they’re flexible, well-made, and didn’t make me feel the need to swap them for aftermarket ones.lling I figured I would do a cable swap but was actually satisfied by the quality of cables it came with already ... show more

  • Shutting off under load
Style: RMx Shift (ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0) Size: 1200W
Just built a brand new machine with an AMD 7800X3D and Sapphire RX 7900 XTX. While under load the system just powers off, like instant black screen with no debug info recorded. I have to flip the switch on the back off then on again to get the system powered up again. When gaming the system temps average 70C for the CPU and 65C for the GPU, so it's not a temperature issue. I was able to run a CPU stress test for 6 hours without a problem hitting a cap of 86C on the CPU. I swapped the GPU out for a 7600 which did not encounter any problems. The Sapphire 7900 XTX takes three 8 pins, and the PSU came with 4 8pins and 2 dual-8pins. Given past experiences I have tried using three independent lines, as well as one shared. I also tried using different modular 8pin ports on the PSU, but since there is nothing in the manual about preferred or designated ports for power I can't tell if I'm doing it wrong or if the PSU is just unable to deliver, which makes no sense for a 1200W rated component... Anyways, I have ordered a Be Quiet and will swap it out to see if that works, since it could still be a GPU problem. However since I can game without issue for half a day if I keep the settings low I have to imagine it's just a power draw problem. I emailed Corsair for support, and so I'll follow up if they suggest a solution, but for now giving this 1 star. Could just be quality control for corsair, but I only build a machine every few years so it sucks to win the lottery. ... show more
