  • it's really good

not bad

  • works well, review for the CX650M
Size: 650 Watts
i dont get other reviews saying this is a bad power supply. it works like it should and after a week of testing has met all my standards of being good. mine has a constant 3.3 voltage (most reviews with real bench tests say most of the CX line has a weak 3.3 rail but mine is spot on even under full load). 12 volt drops to 11.9 volts at 600 watts draw but that is with in spec for the ratings given. mine also has NO coil whine. PROs 1...does what it needs to for range of voltage given 2...has real modular cables for sata 3...good build quality given its price range 4...very short. old power supply was at least a inch longer and the cables plugging in to the power supply itself can bend to fit tight spaces CONs 1...it has 2 cables for GPU's that are both 6x2 pin set ups (4 8 pin plugs total as there are 2 per-cable) when real world it only needed 1 of these cables as most systems wont run SLI or crossfire with only 650 watts total. real world it should have had 3 sata cables and not 2 GPU cables 2...sata cables are a pain. the flat cables i just do not like. yeah they bend but they dont make in to tight places like sleeved cables do. you get 1 sata cable with 4 sata plugs and 1 cable with 2 sata plugs. should have been 3 sata plugs on each. other problem is the 1 cable with 4 plugs has them really close to each other. depending on your case you may only be able to use 2 or 3 of these plugs on the 4 plug run. 3...still has a 3.5 floppy drive power connection on the end of the molex cable....what is this 2003??? 4...does NOT come with a extra 8 pin or 4 pin CPU power cable even when 2 slots have CPU power written on them. reason to remember this is the fact a ton of newer motherboards have a 8 pin PLUS a 4pin OR can have 2 8 pins just for the CPU! (i just built a system that had 3 8 pin cables for the CPU) they sell the cable as a option but you have to order it from Corsair. 5...nothing to do with the power supplies but when it shipped, it was only in its normal retail box. power supply its self is the size of the box and they only put small bubble wrap on it from Corsair in conclusion....its a good option to have and will do its job. if you dont need anything more then a single 8 pin for your CPU and can deal with 4 sata plugs on 1 cable you should be fine using this. my biggest problem with this power supply is how they divided the sata cables. old power supply had 3 per cable and was perfect for me as i use it to dual boot my system. 1 cable was my main install and the other cable was my second install. to switch boot order, i would just change the cable at the power supply (with win 10 you dont even have to change boot settings in bios if its set to windows boot manager). i could only have 2 drives on 1 install using the included cables, when i was running 2 storage drives per install. i got around this because i had left over cables from another corsair CX power supply and ended up using 2 of the 4 plugged cables. ... show more

  • Worked great until it began buzzing
Size: 650 Watts
Cables were a bit stiff at first, as is usual for new PSUs. Powered my Ryzen 7 2700 OC and RX 5700 XT build just fine, but topped out when I upgraded to a 2080 Ti. Even while connected to an APC UPS unit, some strange brownouts caused something in the unit to begin to emit an electrical buzzing sound that only goes away after powering the PC off and turning the PSU off itself. Decent unit if you can manage a warranty claim from Corsair after buying it here. Their website seems to only offer RMA if purchased straight from Corsair. YMMV. ... show more

  • Using with a Dell Inspiron 3670 - needs a 24-pin to 8-pin adapter
Size: 650 Watts
Dell Inspiron 3670 i7 8th Generation are sprightly mid-range business machines that offer very good bang for buck as far as performance but, and it is a big BUT, Dell really, really don't want you to extend their use outside of business. My need was for a machine that would happily work Davinci Resolve video editing. I used a Geforce 6GB GPU for the video crunching, but to do so I had to add an external power supply and ditch the on-board PSU for the Dell. There are NO spare power taps on the 3670 - no supplementary power for cards or additional drives. The ATX mobo connection is also special which means you can't use the 24-pin ATX connector that comes with the Corsair. You must separately get a 24-pin to 8-Pin adapter to power the mobo, and then take the 6-pin CPU connector from the Corsair to the CPU socket on the mobo. This worked for me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A210HKO and there are others available Then you have power to the GPU, and power for a second drive (so I could switch to an SSD plus the original HDD as a data store) plus power to a USB3 card for my external data stores.. The new PSU sits on top of the case, and snakes in through the remaining slot access - not to everyone's taste - but it all works very happily and is almost silent. I retained the original PSU and connectors so I can reverse this out for a vanilla machine at a later date. It voids the warranty from Dell, of course, but if you cared about that then you wouldn't be here. Good luck. ... show more

  • Lasts the Three Year Warranty, and not much more.
Size: 750 Watts
The product works as advertised, but 1 month past the three year warranty and it has started failing while running an Intel i3 9100f and an Nvidia GTX 1060 from Zotac. 16gb of 3200mhz DDR4 RAM, 3 sata drives and an M.2 Drive have not raised the power requirements past 2/3rds of this PSUs rated output so it is very disappointing to see this unit failing. ... show more
