I have both M18 and Dewalt grinders and this can't hold a candle to them. But, it's cheap and does work. I used it the other day to clean up some 3/8" plate metal on my backhoe bucket for a repair I needed to do. Although it doesn't spin up with the torque of either name brand grinder, it does have power and you can really lean into it. It seemed to go through the batteries a little quicker than my other units, but only a little quicker. It won't be my main grinder, but is a good backup or travel tool. My biggest complaint is that it has some non-standard chuck. It'll fit normal 4-1/" cutoff wheels, flap discs, etc. with the supplied nut/boss, but the thread is too small to fit wire wheels or other screw on attachments. So that kind of limits where it's useful and hence the 3 stars. ... show more

Ordered this angle grinder to replace an old one. Here's what I thought: 1. You get a 3-speed grinder, protective wheel cover, handle, wrench and one wheel/disk. 2. The quality and fit of materials appears good and disks clamp well to the arbor without slipping. Weight of the tool is about the same as most I have used and feel in the hand is about the same. 3. After use, the grinder appears to work well on lighter materials and uses battery power about like I expected. With heavier materials, it tends to bog down a little and uses substantially more battery. However, on the whole, battery usage is close to expected, just not up to OEM DeWalt tools. As the price is substantially cheaper than those tools, perhaps this is an okay trade-off. 4. I have both OEM DeWalt batteries and an adapter for Milwaukee batteries. The adapter with an M18 battery works as well as OEM versions. In sum, this is a reasonable lighter-duty angle grinder but there are several others in this price range (both on Amazon and big box). With this in mind, it will do the job you need. Recommended. ... show more

This grinder will get most medium-duty tasks done with the 5AH battery. The torque is reasonable and is easily tested when activating the trigger. Weighing in about 3.5 lbs., the tool has a good balance which is aided by the two-position handle design which reduces user fatigue during long periods of usage. I used this to remove rust and concrete from my metal form stakes using a flap disk and it performed well without any issues. However, when using a cutting wheel to cut 2 inch square tubing; it strained a bit. Despite this problem it worked tolerably. If you are looking for an inexpensive look alike of a name brand tool, (especially if you are already on that platform) this may be an alternative as it is reasonably priced. ... show more

Tested it out - feels good in my hands - feels right sized - used one of my Dewalt 20v batteries - it hesitated about 1 second after I pulled the trigger and then it spooled up to operating speed - I felt the torque of the electric motor - contrasting to a plug in angle grinder it wasn't instant torque, but now I don't have to fool with a power cord. I've found myself frustrated by the limitation of a power cord many times when I've been using my corded angle grinder lately. This should help alleviate that issue quite well. I will have to update my review as I use it - I can't say whether it's the same quality as the major tool brands at the big box stores, as I really don't chose to spend my dollars that way - I would hold on using my review as a purchase decision - simply because I have not had the time to do a real world use case analysis - Price of admission seems to be the same as name brand big box prices so - meh - use caution unless you need a tool like this and you live out in the middle of nowhere and getting to a place like harbor freight is not an option. ... show more

First off, lets all get on the same page that your battery grinder will never be the same as your corded grinder. But this one I think is still a little lacking. If you work on a lot of sheet metal, or you wanted it to sand or polish, it would be great. But for heavy grinding and cutting thick metal it realllllly eats up batteries and doesnt have the power to push through. Have to cut thick stuff with kid gloves. ... show more
