  • Great unit, easy install
I bought this unit to cool a small warehouse for a home-based business. It replaced a wood stove and large Window AC unit. I did the entire install myself in a few hours. The only item that I outsourced was running the 220 line and wiring in the disconnect switch. Once the power was run the unit was super easy to install. The only special tools needed were a 45* flaring tool and a vacuum pump. The lineset cut and flared really easily with the cutter included with the flaring tool. I deburred the lines with the tool that came with the flaring tool as well. Once the fittings were connected to the unit I used the vacuum pump to evacuate the lines and check for leaks. Some installer will run a nitrogen pressure test, but in my experience if the unit will hold 30 in/hg of vacuum it should be just fine. Once the vacuum test passed, I disconnected the pump, opened the valves to let the refrigerant into the lines and powered on the unit. It took a few minutes for it to self-check and start working. Once it was powered on and producing heat, we noticed a small hum from the unit that eventually went away. This 24000 BTU unit warms the shop up in no time and keeps it super comfortable. Time will tell how long it lasts, but so far I'm very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware
Hello, I had this mini split professionally installed. The company that completed the installation is known for its workmanship and professionalism - that was clearly not the problem. The issues started as soon as the unit was powered up. The inside unit makes a rattling/vibrating sound that periodically comes and goes. The second issue is that the fan on the inside unit revs up and down continuously, not a slow ramp up and down, but rather a consistent rev, slow, rev, slow. The company that did the installation mentioned that they had never heard this before and they have a ton of experience. They tried a number of adjustments and tinkering but all to no effect. I am returning the unit promptly. Reading through the directions for returning this, the language is fuzzy and mentions that I could be charged for shipping and restocking fees - ouch. Not sure if the particular I unit I received is/was garbage or if the whole line is bad. Going to replace this with a more reputable brand. A year later... This spring, I noticed that despite the heat pump being on, it was not producing any heat. I contacted the professionals who installed the unit, who informed me that the inside/head unit had leaked all the refrigerant. I contacted Cooper and Hunt and was told that I would need to conduct a bubble test to verify that the leak was coming from the unit and not the connection. This I did, again at my cost to the installers. Cooper and Hunt stated that I would have to pay for shipping, and that I would also need to separately purchase refrigerant from my installer. The total cost of doing all this would far exceed the cost of purchasing a new unit. Again, please, for your sake, do not purchase items from this company. Their "warranty" is a joke, and customer service is terrible. Buy from a reputable source - do your homework... This review does not allow me to give it a zero, however, if I could, I would. ... show more

  • Leaks badly
Worked amazingly cool and quiet for nearly a year after having installed it, then started to freeze up on the interior side of the wall. A few days after that it stopped pumping cold or hot air depending on the setting and would only leak water or ice. Since there is virtually no warranty this also makes getting it repaired a total waste of time and everytime I call a professional I am asked if it is warranted only to be refused service since it is not. I've since also found out through a friend that there is a leak after having recharged the system and having it escape again. Now even though I know of this leak I have no way to repair it and am essentially stuck with an oversized industrial paper weight in scorching southern california summers without any repairmen willing to work on this thing. ... show more

  • Easy DIY install
Everything went great. Heats and cools well! I wish the model I purchased came with the WiFi adapter. Looks nice and heats and cools well! Be careful with the flairs as they are easy to mess up.
