Anyone can look up Phoenix summer weather data for 2023 and (especially) 2024 to see how brutal things were. My office was never above 75 degrees, even with multiple computers running and family sitting at them. I've got it running as I write this because our high today will reach 99 or 100. My wife says she's freezing in here. There's no debate. When this unit goes, I will purchase another C&H unit. -=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~-=*=-~ [Written 2022Oct19] ... six more to go (under the warranty) -- so far, so good. This unit performed like a champ. Very quiet, both inside and out. Lots of cold air. I replaced a 12-year-old Fujitsu Halcyon. Over the last three years it began leaking some coolant oil from the connectors and my A/C guys had to keep topping off the coolant. This unit is for my home office (11' X 15-1/2') on the second story, containing five desktop computers. Usually only two are running most of the day, although it's not uncommon for four to be on at the same time, along with three people present. 2022 wasn't a crazy-heat summer like 2020 (which may have worn out my Fujitsu) but still offered a slew of 110-plus degree days. I set the unit to 72 degrees and the fan speed to high -- meaning it never turns off until I manually do so before going to bed. The C&H unit didn't skip a beat. My A/C guys had never heard of Cooper & Hunter but commented that it looked like a solid piece of equipment, and they are curious to know how it worked. I'll let them know next spring when they come to tune up my A/C systems. If I had to say so today, I would definitely buy another C&H unit. The price is right -- hundreds less than a Fujitsu. It actually cost more for the guys to remove the Fujitsu and install the C&H, than the C&H unit cost itself! (2022 was a bad year to hire contractors -- my guys were booked five weeks out.) ... show more

I had it installed.. but watching the guy, I'm pretty sure I could have done it myself.. He charged me $600 to put it in, and I get a warranty.. 3 hours and he was done.. Unit cools my 16x25 garage shop in about 20 minutes.. haven't hooked up the WiFi yet, but I don't think that's gonna be a problem.. Unit is VERY quiet.. you can barely hear it at all.. remote buttons could be a little bigger, they're hard to read without my glasses.. But it's not hard to figure it out. For the money, this is a great unit.. been working about a month now.. not even a hint of a problem.. ... show more

I purchased the Cooper & Hunter 12,000 BTU, 230V, 19 SEER 1 Ton Ductless Mini Split AC/Heating System to replace a failed 24,000 BTU Ductless Aire unit. The C&H unit effectively cools roughly 700 sqft of my upstairs living space. The C&H unit seems to be better quality than the Ductless Aire unit. The C&H unit is surprisingly quiet. We have the unit installed in our living room and we don't have to blast our TV volume when the AC is on anymore. The only issue that we faced was that the connection lines from the wall unit were not long enough to pass through the right-hand hole drilled through the wall from the previous unit. The technician had to drill a left-hand hole through the wall and make the flare connections inside of the wall unit. So far we are please with the cooling efficiency, aesthetics and low noise level of this unit. ... show more

Had to call the HVAC technician back over because unit does not heat or cool a month after installation. Technician advised that the evaporator (indoor unit) is bad. Called Cooper & Hunter and they said in order to honor the warranty that the HVAC technician would have to come out and call them so they could troubleshoot over the phone. I’m not sure if they understand that I have to pay for the technicians time here which is expensive. My technician suggested buying just the indoor unit and replacing. I contacted Mini Splits for Less and I’m waiting on a quote. I’m disappointed and will never buy this brand again. Original Review: This is a solid unit. Installed it in an office shed. So far it has worked well. A little disappointed that it’s not a fully DIY unit. Had to spend an additional $600 for an HVAC tech to hook up all the lines. I did buy the cover for the exterior wall and it turned out great. Overall, very happy with it. ... show more

Install it correctly, and it works amazing. Quiet, easy to use, looks cool. Freezes the room in summer and turns it into a freaking oven in winter. Good on the electric bull. When my main ac dies I'm just going to buy these instead.

Unit installed without issues. 4-5 hours of YouTube videos and I installed it in about 6 hours. I also took the EPA 608 exam for dealing with Freon. If you do it yourself, you will need to take the exam, it’s the law. C&H still will not allow me to register for the warranty. Honestly the unit was $780. An HVAC company wanted $6000 to install the same unit. At $780 I will self warranty it. The good: Everything works. No real issues on the install. The bad: This isn’t that bad but the control cable wasn’t labeled at all. The instructions are hard to follow. I ended up measuring the wall unit to figure out the lines location. The instructions called out a 2.5 inch hole in the wall but the tube that was supplied was 2.25 inches in diameter. Unit has been operating without any issues for about two months now. I did mount this on a wall and that was not the best idea. It has a vibration each time the unit starts and stops. ... show more

Yes. You will need an HVAC tech to install this unit if you don’t have the skills. But it’s so worth it to get that peace of mind. I have this split mini now installed in my new work shop (12K BTUs). It’s so very quiet. And it keeps my shop nice and cold in this Texas heat. I’m curious to see if it’s going to keep us warm in the winter but right now, it’s too hot to even try and run the heat side. The outside unit is also very quiet and I can’t hear it unless I walk up and get close to it. But just know, it’s best to have a certified HVAC tech set this split mini up in your application. ... show more
