I have these solar lights hanging from short shepherd hooks on both sides of the driveway and they look so pretty and nicely illuminated in the evenings. Love that these included the glass jars and that they were well-packed so all 12 jars arrived intact. The area where these lights are installed gets sunlight at least 6 hours a day so that they turn on at dusk and last all the way until dawn. The warm white color throws off such a pretty glow that is bright enough but not in an intrusive way. I am very pleased with this purchase and plan to buy another set as back-up and to have on hand. Wanted to have something special to hang around the trees of my property and these were beautiful. They are light weight, medium in size (maybe a little smaller than a mason jar) & bright. They seem well made as the glass is thick. They functioned exactly like they should. They do not come on automatically as there is an on off switch inside the lid. The lids have rusted a little over time, but nothing too drastic and it adds to a rustic appearance. The lids have succeeded in keeping out moisture and the solar cells and LEDs are still working after a year. No complaints. I'm updating my review and adding a star because I was pleasantly surprised to see these are repairable. In the heat of a second summer, many of the units stopped illuminating and I initially feared they would have to be discarded. However, the internal battery is a simple NiMH AAA type and with a screwdriver, it's a matter of removing two screws to open up the internal lid component and replace the battery. That's extremely welcome - I really expected something glued and soldered, so this deserves an extra star for avoiding landfill. Well done. ... show more

I ordered these lights twice. The first set I received a couple of years ago was great, adorable ball jars with metal lids and the brand engraving on the glass, which still work perfectly after all this time. The rustic charm of the slightly rusted lids adds to the overall appeal. However, the second set I ordered recently feels a bit lacking in quality. The lids are now plastic, and there's no engraving on the jars, making them feel cheaper. While they still function, I miss the charm of the original set. Very dissatisfied with these! One was DOA non-working out of the box and another has already died in just a few weeks. Performance is oddly variable, some individual jars work okay and stay lit for four to five hours whereas others only stay lit for an hour or two.
