  • Great option for ITX/SFF builds
Size: 850 Watt Style: V850 SFX Gold
It's a modular power supply with good efficiency, and has good ratings for the power supply purchasing guides I read. No issues on a Ryzen 5 9600x and rx9070 xt. Fits well in an ITX case, haven't noticed any issues with it at all.

  • Great high wattage SFF PSU and ignore the cable haters!
Size: 1100 Watt Style: V1100 SFX Platinum ATX3.0
First off, clearly no one complaining about these cables has dealt with other SFX or SFX-L PSUs with worse cable stiffness like the SIlverstone SX1000. I've had plenty a PSU with worse cables, these were surprisingly easy to work with in a SFF build. That said, I do wish the GPU cables were a bit shorter since there's three individual cables I am having to hide 2/3 length for in my case. Too many actual SFF cases that "support SFX-L" really don't in any usable way (looking at you Lian Li Dan A4-H2O, Phanteks Evolv Shift XT, and Hyte Revolt 3)... You end up with the cables absolutely SMASHED against the PSU trying to get a higher wattage SFX-L in there. Enter this beauty and despite having the connectors protrude a bit more than some SFF PSUs, it's a dream by comparison. I had enough room to actually put the cable managing cover back on in my Hyte Revolt 3 and keep from having cables push my GPU at an angle a bit in the case. The noise is totally fine, I don't hear it really at all at idle or load. I DID have a coil whine issue when my computer was powered off, actually, but after some searching and adjusting BIOS settings for ErP/S5/whatever power saving settings you have options of that went away entirely. Now it stays silent and operates wonderfully. If you have a higher power SFF system or want to save space in the case, this thing is great and I'd absolutely recommend it with the same level of quality as things like the Silverstone SX1000 or 850R, Phanteks Revolt, or Corsair SF750. When on sale this was ~$20 more than those and was a no brainer for the additional headroom and 10 year warranty. ... show more

  • cables are annoying, get it anyways
Size: 1100 Watt Style: V1100 SFX Platinum ATX3.0
yes the cables are annoyingly stiff, but you simply can’t pack this much wattage and efficiency into an sfx unit for 200 bucks without atleast a couple corners cut. with a 10 year warranty i have full confidence that i wont need a new psu til i have children

  • Noisy, Noisy, Noisy
Size: 1100 Watt Style: V1100 SFX Platinum ATX3.0
TL;DR: Do yourself a favor and buy the Corsair SF1000 instead. I bought this PSU admittedly after not doing a lot of research. I saw that it was a >1000w SFX PSU from a major brand and kinda assumed it'd be fine. It took about 30 min after finishing my build to realize my mistake. This PSU was by far the loudest component in my build at load, which included a 9800x3D cooled by a Nocuta D15, an AMD 7900xtx, 2 140mm fans and 4 120mm fans. That alone would be fine - at load, I expect my PC to be a little noisy. But what ultimately led me to look at a different PSU entirely was the idle noise. The fan in this POS runs CONSTANTLY, and is incredibly noisy. I replaced the V1100 with a Corsair SF1000, and it is DEAD silent at idle because it has a zero RPM mode. Shockingly, it doesn't even turn on very often with my 9800x3D. Sadly I couldn't even return this because I took a couple of months to accumulate all of the parts for my build and by the time I had it installed, the return window closed. I feel BAD about re-selling it on the used market knowing that I'm jumanji-ing some poor unfortunate soul who ends up with this absolute howler. If I could give it zero stars, I would. ... show more

  • Decent but overpriced in my opinion as most Form factor parts are.
Size: 850 Watt Style: V850 SFX Gold
The Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold packs a serious punch in a miniature package, but is it the perfect PSU for your mini-ITX build? Let's dive in: Powerhouse in a Pint-Sized Package: 850W of juice makes it suitable for even the most power-hungry builds, from high-end CPUs to RTX 3080s. 80+ Gold efficiency keeps energy waste and your electricity bill in check. Compact SFX form factor fits snugly in mini-ITX cases, leaving room for your other components to shine. Whisper-Quiet Cooling: (mostly) FDB fan spins silently under normal loads, keeping your rig a tranquil oasis. Even under heavy pressure, noise levels stay surprisingly low, although some users report a noticeable hum. Modular Magic: ✨ Fully modular cables let you ditch the clutter and keep your case looking sleek and tidy. High-quality braided cables are durable and flexible, making installation a breeze. A Few Snags to Consider: Price tag reflects the premium performance and compact size, making it pricier than some non-SFX options. The included SFX-to-ATX bracket might be unnecessary for some mini-ITX cases and adds extra bulk. A couple of user reports mention coil whine under specific workloads, though not a widespread issue. Verdict: The Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold is a top contender for mini-ITX builders seeking top-tier power and quiet operation. Its compact size, high efficiency, and modular cables make it a dream for building clean and cool rigs. However, the premium price tag and potential for minor noise quirks might give budget-conscious or noise-sensitive users pause. In short: Get it if: You want the best power delivery and efficiency for your mini-ITX build, prioritize low noise, and appreciate quality craftsmanship. Skip it if: You're on a tight budget, can tolerate a bit more noise, or don't need the absolute power-house performance for your setup. ... show more

  • All time favorite
Size: 850 Watt Style: V850 SFX Gold
Power supplies have been annoyingly expensive as of late, but this is still my favorite for a decent price. Small, light, and easily fit into my compact build. The modular cables keep things clean, especially if you don't need SATA. One of the easiest parts I installed. The all-black looks good, although a lot of the plugs are daisy-chained so you might see an unused PCIE power or something if you don't space it right. Works with anything you could want. Plenty of CPU and PCIE power, loads of SATA, and 850W behind all that. ... show more
