One of the LED lights seems to stay on and according to directions should be off but other than that this thing heats up fast and theres a lot of temp variations… I literally boiled water in about a minute! Easy clean up damp paper towel or sponge and LED display lets you know if surface is hot. It has a built in fan and unit is incased in Plastic and stays cool so you can cook on any surface worry free from heat damage…at the discounted price well worth it and I finally can get a nice sear to do a blackened Steak!!

This is my second portable induction burner and I won’t be purchasing this model again. It’s a good product. And heats and cooks, but your can’t set it to the temperature that you want. It only has 8 preset temps which your can not vary from at all. You are stuck with just those 8 temperatures. So if you need to cook at a precise temp then this model is not what you will want.

The media could not be loaded. Like the 99.9% of Chinese no name brand products sold on Alibazon, this one is no different- nothing but exaggerated claims (read- lies). The 8.26" advertised cooking coil/element diameter- the main reason I bought this unit- is not even 5" (see photos). Ironically, even the printed circle is far smaller than 8" in diameter, not that the circle itself is of any consequence... Otherwise, the induction cooktop works, but be ready to be stirring a lot if you cook in but the smallest pots and pans- the temperature distribution is very uneven outside of center. Also, get ready to have all your nice cooking pots and pans ruined- eventually, the center area will pop up and instead of a flat surface they'll take on a convex shape and the oil/liquid will be pooling on the outside perimeter of a pan. I do like the simple knob control which seems pretty unique in the China Sea of all these copycat induction cooktops- just so much easier to use and quickly adjust temperature or power output. So one extra start for this simple design solution. I also purchased a Nuwave Gold model after I'd ordered this Cooktron cooktop. Nuwave also advertised a 8" coil element and cost some 60% more, but turned out to have the same exact size coil, around 5" (all these "brands" most likely source and use all the same parts inside) Seeing how Cooktron top was $40 vs $70 for nuwave and it has better control, the Nuwave is going right back. Cooktron is also supposedly 1800W vs 1500W for Nuwave, but I suspect those numbers aren't to be trusted either.

I live in a rental and the electric in kitchen is crazy. I have to pay attention to what is being used. Not just in the kitchen but in the other half of the house as well. I Love I can lower the wattage being used, I can cook and use other items. This cooktop makes less noise than the airfryer I have. I can barely hear it. Even at a low wattage setting the pan heats up fast. I did test the booster button (nothing else on), it boosts the temp for 1 minute and returns to your setting. Heating things up that much quicker. I tried the timer, such a great feature to have the stove shut off when the timer goes off. I plan to buy another one, but not sure the electric could handle it. LOL ps the stove that in the house is so very slow to heat up anything, we had started to use a hot plate. this is much faster and easier.

Used once so far. Works better and faster than I expected. Bigger than I expected (which is a minor deficiency). 8-inch diameter cooking surface. Surface was hot after use, probably due to contact of pot with surface. Remember pots that a magnet sticks to only.
