  • left in driveway out in the rain by amazon delivery
Size: Double Touch Induction Cooktop
Update: I've been using this for the last two weeks and despite amazon delivery leaving it out in the rain it has been working without problems and I have been using it at least once every day. I'm new to induction cooking so some things has been trial and error. Heats up induction cookware quickly which reminds me of cooking on gas which I haven't done in about 10 or 15 years. Unlike electric burners that retain heat for a while when turning down or off the induction changes immediately, no need to slide the pan off the burner. I like that it can be set to power levels or set by temperature. I don't think there is an actual sensor to measure the temp but sets itself to a specific power level and it depends on how well your cookware responds to induction that will determine the actual temp of the cookware. A long time ago I had a gas stove that had a burner that had an actual temp sensor and would reduce or increase the flame as needed, the only problem with that is the pilot light would always be on under the pan and create a hot spot that would burn the food at that spot. This induction cooker will cycle on and off to maintain a set temp but without having a pilot light there is no hot spot that burns the food. The only thing I wish was different is the size of the induction coil. Description says for pans between 4 and 10 inches but it seems that the induction coil is less then 10 inches. When I have a pan on it the area that boils is a circle between the center and outside of the 10 inch pan leaving about an inch of space between the boiling and edge of the pan as well as an area in the center that doesn't boil. Induction coils are shaped like a donut so it makes sense not to boil at the center I just wish the coil covered to the edge of the pan. If you use a decent quality triply induction pan then the coil not being as big as the pan isn't that much of a problem as a decent triply would spread out the heat to the entire pan... Just need to take some time to pre-heat the pan at a lower power setting before starting to cook. ______________________________________ Despite being left out in the rain in my driveway by amazon instead putting it on my covered porch it seems to be working ok. Not sure how much water damage may have occurred internally I dried off the outside and let it sit in front of a fan for a day then tried powering it on. Seems to work. I do like being able to have two pans cooking at the same time, frying some ham and potato patties on one side and an cheese omelet on the other... nice to have both done at same time instead of having one get cold with a single element induction cooker. ... show more

  • There is a learning curve, but it is so worth it.
Size: Double Touch Induction Cooktop
This is an amazing piece of equipment once you understand how to use it. Works in watts, not temperature. Creates less heat, cooks faster and it doesn't heat up the house as much as electric or gas (my general favorite). Less dirty in terms of grease or film than gas. • skeptical at first but liking this for my kitchenette (long post)
Size: Double Touch Induction Cooktop
We are in the middle of a remodel and I have a temporary kitchen setup in our in-law apartment. Due to local zoning, a house with 2 kitchens requires a commercial loan so this in-law apartment only has kitchen appliances (microwave and toaster oven). I had been using (2) 1-burner electric burners (one coil and one solid) since August and I finally reached my limit when one night it took over an hour to boil water (I did not have the lid on and all that happened is my water simmered and evaporated). I figured I'd try convection and knew I would need a 2-burner. I did not want to invest too much in this as our kitchen is expected to be complete in the next couple of months when I can have my gas stove back and I was not interested in replacing all of my cookware. I have cast iron, enameled cast iron le creuset, anondized, and de Buyer iron pans - all of many sizes but I also have a lot of stainless steel/ that wouldn't work. I did buy one all-clad pot since all of my stock pots are stainless, I did not have a decent size pot that would work. I'll be honest, I had a return scheduled when between ordering and delivery I read that pan size was something to pay attention to. The burner is an 8" and many of my pans are 10"+ and my le creuset dutch oven is 26. I started researching the induction transfer mats and read it's a waste of energy transfer. So I scheduled a return. After it arrived, I knew my pans would work b/c of the magnet test so I gave it a go. All my compatible pans and my le creuset worked! As it turns out, though the burner is 8" you can have a pot/pan a bit larger than the circumference! I cancelled the return! Key points on keeping this appliance: - I can use in the kitchenette or in my remodeled kitchen when I need extra cooking (e.g. Thanksgiving/X-mas). I am going back to my gas range as it's a work-horse and I prefer the ability to finely control my flame - easy clean up - literally boils water in like 3 mins - use 800 to 1000 and boost it. This is fantastic for fast cooking especially for packing lunches (like mac/cheese) where time in the morning is a premium - pans heat up fast for searing - relatively safe - the induction top, due to magnetism, does not heat like a normal stove so potential for burning hands is lessened Cons: - there is a learning curve with the settings. this brand says there are 9 Power Levels and 10 Temperature levels. The instructions are terrible and I have yet to find the farenheit equivalent temperature settings - all I have are wattages. See previous comment about going back to gas. - EMF - literature/research/warnings out there for cardiac patients ... show more

  • So far good
Size: Double Touch Induction Cooktop
Bought this because my gas bill has went sky high. It's nice and large sits on top of my stove. One this is you will need to get pots and pans that are induction compatible none the less we went out and purchased a frying pan compatible with this cook top and I'm not sure if it's the pan but cooked bacon this morning and one side of the pan seemed to burn and cook faster does not seem that food will cook evenly. I decided to clean the pan and try eggs and a little butter in the pan before adding the eggs had it set to 400 the lowest setting on the cooktron and ehh did not work so great either I'm not sure if it's the pan or the cook tron I will look for a non stick compatible pan and then try again and will come back and update It is definitely very different from gas UPDATE Bought a new non stick compatible pan and works great It's faster cooking then gas and eggs came out great in the pink frying pan so far all is good no issues we will see when the electric bill comes in but overall happy with this purchase ... show more

  • Amazing - Unbelievable heating speed
Size: Double Touch Induction Cooktop
I like the size, portability and so easy to use. I purchased it to have an alternative to cooking without propane in my motor home. I've only used it once and look forward to using it again. It doesn't smell, heats up instantly, turns off if you remove the pan.

  • Disappointed
Size: Double Touch Induction Cooktop
I’m very disappointed in this cooktop. It only has preset temps. I cannot choose the temps I want. Also, although there is a white circle that shows you the cooking heat, I had to move all my meat to the center of the pan in order to cook all the ends. On the flip side, it is pretty. I got it on October 10.. it’s is now November 6 and 1 burner has stopped working! ... show more

  • 10/10 recommend
Size: Double Touch Induction Cooktop
I have lived in a camper for 3.5 years and cooked on a double burner like this for 3 of those years. This is hands down the very best double burner ever! It’s lasted the entire 3 years without any issues, still works good as new, gets things hot very fast and is super easy to clean. I cook with all cast iron and this burner handled it like a champ. 10/10 recommend. ... show more
